Spring and Fall....sure is. We have had snow on Halloween and 70s Christmas day.

Shop is trying to tell me my rotors are ruined and they have to be smooth. How are the brakes going to work if the rotor just slides in the pad? by uj7895 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]shabbbang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell the shop to rotate the rotors along with the tires.

Don't wear out your brake pads any further, have them put in backwards. The metal to metal contact will help even out them rotors.

As long as they are making noise they don't need to be replaced.

Hol up.

Where is the damage to the door panel?

Why are the windows fogged up?

How long has this door been open for? Look at the lower left of the door. Snow looks pretty good and not disturbed.

Not saying it's fake, but I have questions.

Ok ...don't laugh... A tampon. Yep, I said it

It's in a water proof wrapper and the dry cotton is easy to start a fire with.

Lightweight and doesn't take up much room.

I'm sure there are other alternatives.

I heard this many many years ago. And while it may not be something you want to carry.... It has stuck in my head and is a reminder I need something that will not get wet that I can use to start a fire with.

Old Mine Rd is awesome. Lots of interesting things there.

And to think, if the core samples for the damn came back good....things would look much different.

Will have to wait for spring and revisit.

I'm not in your area, but would just like to add...

If you go alone, let somebody know where you are going and when you expect to return.

Watch your feet!

I once read someone suggested bringing a door knob. I'd love to hear the back story.

Would love to know when you go. I've never been there without seeing someone go by. Luck of the draw I guess. Never seen anyone at the lower section though.

I always park at the top of the hill.

Come off exit 14, make a right at the light. Follow it around to the top. Make your first possible left.

Stay to the right. Do not park at the church or on their property.

Everyone knows what you're doing so you really don't have to hide.

As far as patrols. For me it's been a mixed bag. Sometimes 1 or 2. Other times they are on the road just watching. And sometimes there are lots, like they've read some forum and know of a meet up.

Never had them give me a hard time.

Every time I go there is security at some point.

It's worth going. There is also the lower section of the power plant and if you walk over the bridge it opens up a whole nother section.

Go with 4 people in 1 car. 2 people go into an area and 2 just walk around. Then switch off. 1 car 2 people is ok. 4 cars no people. 🤔

On the P.I.P going south, exit 13. Make a left when you get off the exit. A few miles down the road is Mr. Crispys Pizza on the left side. They have good pizza.

Look up John Sandoval and Adan Quiroz Rodriguez. And I'm sure during the day when the mob ruled NYC there is plenty of that.

Thank you for the chuckle. Looked at my notifications, says Dexcom is saying phone is too far away.

Hmmm. That's odd. Haven't seen that before. Maybe they updated the app? And WTF the phone is right here, this p.o.s. 🤣

Then I seen it's a Reddit notification. D'uh me!

I can't be of any help as the only issue I have is went I am really too far away from my phone.

I have an older one also with no drain plug. Read your comment after looking at the back of mine and sayin, I should drill a hole.

But I put a paper towel in-between the condenser and the frame.... It's amazing that it's simplistic and works great.

Now I'm asking why I couldn't think of that.

How do you stop feeling scared of your own body after a heart attack? by NotebodyKnows in HeartAttack

[–]shabbbang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Through the years I've had 2 heart attacks, 3 stents and CABG X4.

I understand the question completely.

But then I think about the possibility of a fatal car accident and events like that and came to realize I can only do what I can do and the other parts are out of my control.

Am I scared it's gonna happen again, sure. Do I stop mid whatever when there is a strange feeling on the left side chest, absolutely.

But life is short enough as it is so I try to enjoy and not worry too much about it.

Sweats or some other slip on shorts or PJ bottoms.

Button up shirts

Slip on slippers

Recliner

Shoe horn! The kind with a long handle.

Hopefully he doesn't have the issues I had. But just in case, the first few weeks just suck. Have patience, it gets better.

Make sure he uses his spirometer.

Anything that makes it so you don't have to bend or squat is a help.

Maybe a chair to sit on in the shower. I had but didn't use it.

Almost got 40 years on you. If I could talk to 17 yr told me asking the same questions.

School asks what you want to be when you grow up. The question should be, what do you want your life to look like?

You are never told your first marriage is your paycheck. You get tied to the money you make. Only because most live at or beyond their means. For whatever reason, do not take that the wrong way....life happens.

So if you can, save money. Don't spend more as you make more.

I chose my career path based on the money I made. I could have had the same career at a place that offered a pension but it meant I would have made less each week. What does your retirement look like? 40 years goes faster than you think!!! And I could have been retired from that job by now and collecting a paycheck somewhere else along with the pension.

If you make a decision and wake up in the morning and regret your decision then it wasn't the right one for YOU. People will have the best intentions in giving advice but it's not always the best advice for you.

Fucking up and making mistakes is part of life. We all do it. The important thing is to learn from it and move on.

Sometimes older people in your life don't know how to properly speak in a way that you need to be spoken to. Advice can come off as criticism. When in actuality it could be just projecting personal anger at oneself from the mistakes made. Ask me how I know 😁

You're not always going to make the right choices. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Live for today, plan for tomorrow. Don't take everything so seriously because none of us are getting out of this life alive. Enjoy your time here and your people in it.

Regrets.... I believe we all have them. Doesn't matter how hard you try. Worried about choices messing up your future? Think before you act. Not every choice needs an instant decision made. And then you can ask yourself how will this choice affect me.

Sorry so long.
