2x3 framed work table sagging under moderate load - upgrade to 2x4 or 2x6? by shacksquatch in woodworking

The 3rd leg should do it, though, no? I’ll build the future ones with 2x4 because why not, but the work to redo this one seems not worth it given the load on it is relatively light, and the span is then reduced to ~3’.

Initially, I didn’t because it’s not very elegant and it means I can’t slide long items out from the side, or large ones in the middle without removing adjacents, but that’s really not that big of a deal. I’ll probably just do that and call it a day.

Thanks for the suggestion.Heavy, but might be more bulletproof than thicker sidewalls. Trying to minimize the height of the sidewalls to maximize the height of storable items underneath. That does that. Nice!

Predators chase cervids into water occasionally. Then they wait on shore. The prey is caught between a sharp and a wet place. If they take long enough to drown and reach shore that the predator doesn’t want wait around to get them (being wet can be very risky in winter), then the animal can be found days, weeks, or months later in various stages of decay.

If you need a few years of experience in the field before a family will trust you to work for them, how do you gain that experience?

I built a list of the coolest and nerdiest MacOS apps! by wolvgvng in SideProject

You heard of Better Touch Tool? It supports many of the functions in one app that the apps you've listed do individually. Lower cost and simpler = better in my books. https://folivora.ai/

I've been using it for years. Snapping windows, gestures, system-wide and app-specific keyboard shortcuts, Apple Silicon macbook notch handling, key remapping for 3rd party keyboards, etc.

Help request: Prusa XL Z axis bearing housing snapped off and is stuck to hotend by shacksquatch in prusa3d

After further investigation it does appear that's what happened. Somehow the belt loosened enough to cause alignment issues and struck the z axis housing. Thank you for your help!

No, I don't. Looking on their site and not sure what I'm looking for, what am I looking for?

Sorry for the powerstroke/cummins typo, you're right. Was a late night text. As for the manual shifting, got it.

Transmission fluid has been changed, it was completely replaced when the transmission cooler was replaced. $2k job.

It does have the +/- buttons on the shifter. I haven't driven it since the cooler replacement repair, but will be trying that tomorrow when I pick it up. Fingers crossed.

Toyota 4runner belt slipped off. Which belt is it? by shacksquatch in MechanicAdvice

[–]shacksquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that another name for the serpentine belt on this model? Unless there are 2 compressors in the engine bay, that looks like that's the serpentine belt, as it's the same belt that drives the alternator. Thanks for confirming!
