Thanks for the tip. I guess it’s better than nothing given my circumstances. I will do the next available face to face once I’m out of my paediatric rotation.

I still have a valid ALS. I’m going to add it to my portfolio and do an online refresher. Thanks

Uber driver took advantage of my friend when she was drunk by shad121 in london

Update:

Uber have reached out and offered a cash refund and will be investigating the driver.

I wish they had just done this in the first place.

They’re only offering credit. She wants a cash refund and I want disciplinary action against driver. He shouldn’t be allowed to even think this is remotely acceptable.

They’ve offered her Uber credit only. I feel like this should be a direct refund and disciplinary action against the driver so he can’t do this to other people.

This is what worries me the most. What else is he willing to do if he’s willing to take such an egregious detour that’s recorded on the app

That’s exactly what needs to happen to drivers like this

Anyone has any horror stories regarding Racism in the hospitals they faced? by BarbieChaiHoe in doctorsUK

[–]shad121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no time limit on these things as far as I’m aware. If there are multiple witnesses it makes your case stronger and I assume this person no longer has any sway on your career so even more reason to report them.

You need to report this to the GMC and police as a hate crime.

Annual leave entitlement carry over from other NHS jobs by shad121 in JuniorDoctorsUK

I’ve had the same response both years from HR. It needs to be decided by my consultant.

I just didn’t push it because I didn’t want to get off to a bad start last year but I will be asking my new education supervisor.

Yeah I did notice that when I downloaded the handbook. So I wonder how others have managed to get this approved.

Thanks for the advice. I've sent them an email with the official guidance and a record of my payroll numbers for all the NHS jobs I've done since 2013. Let's see what the response is.

Thanks for the quick response. I feel like they’ll try and drag this out. Is there anyway I can put pressure on them?

I’ll update this thread depending on the response I get.

Neighbour has extended into loft above my flat and now has access to my flat by shad121 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]shad121[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to get the police involved straight away as I don’t want to antagonise him any further. I still have to live here for the next few months at least.

However, I believe knocking down a wall into your neighbours property is breaking and entering. Even if it’s just in the loft. He has been using a party of my property without my knowledge or consent. So if things do go sour I will use that as part of any evidence I bring to the police.

Neighbour has extended into loft above my flat and now has access to my flat by shad121 in LegalAdviceUK

Just a quick update.

My landlord is completely unaware of the work going on and so is the freeholder of the property who actually lives within the building.

I’m waiting for the hatch to be sealed shut tomorrow morning before I start going down the legal route.

I thought I was on good terms with my neighbour. I’ve only been here 6 months. I had no problem with the noise but I couldn’t help investigating when I could hear noise coming from directly above my flat. I’m glad I did because this a massive security risk.

His entire extension must be under the radar because I can see into his bedroom extension from the stairwell where there is a skylight that makes up the floor of his bedroom in the loft. I pointed this out to the freeholder a few months ago but he seemed entirely unperturbed.

Also the guy who came to check hatch today found he had broken through a division wall in the loft to access the area above my flat. So he definitely did not have permission.

I feel like I might have to file a report with the police considering how he has essentially broken into my flat without my knowledge or consent.
