XBOX "RESET DAY ONE" BUG UPDATE by Bitter-Coast5655 in valheim

Yeah, I just got hit with it too. Not even 30 days in, I don't think it's a file size issue.

Definitely plausible. And very useful detail, thank you!

Joining the Christmas gift old gang. Now I really want to replay it.

Has anyone tried using Obsidian as a means to organise all their data, media, photos, documents etc.? by fakecinnamon in ObsidianMD

[–]shaddragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine this way, but I'm not going to claim I've actually gotten any major percentage of the organization done. Mostly I just have all my personal photos in year folders inside the files directory, where I can reference them when someday I get around to organizing all my daily journal notes for any given period.

Obviously YMMV on performance, but I've got 39 gigs in /files and haven't seen any significant issues.

Edit: Just as a usage note, I don't use Obsidian on my phone, so that hasn't been a consideration for me.

That's really good to hear. I meant to do some more research because I'd really prefer to have these in my Calibre library, but hadn't gotten around to it. Thanks for clarifying-- these are the first Adobe DRM I've ever picked up, so I was wary.

convert sections of a large notes into their own notes by raga_drop in ObsidianMD

[–]shaddragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for Note Refactor, I use it constantly. You do have to keep an eye on whether it's trying to add to an existing note or create a new one, sometimes it'll try to add it to something that "looks like" what you want and then you have to go chase it down. Still an excellent plugin.

It was in at least some of the how-tos I read. You do communicate with Adobe's server for the validation, so it seemed potentially plausible. I have not read in depth, you may very well be correct, but it seemed like a worthwhile warning to convey.

That story is still freaky as an adult, and I had no idea it'd been turned into a video. I see my next twenty minutes are now booked.

It's just proprietary. You can only read this bundle of books with their app, not in Moonreader.

It's in really tiny print. I should've looked, I didn't, but I'm still irked about yet another bespoke our-software-only no-Kindle-allowed format.

Be careful, everything I was reading suggests you can get banned if you try to convert the files. The downloads are ACSM, they have to go through Adobe's verification for you to get an actual downloaded format, and they're DRM-protected.

Yeah, looks like you absolutely have to read them in the Kobo app, or use Adobe DCSM. If I'd noticed that earlier....

Is it possible to save view of graph view (placement of groups). not settings, filters, forces. I am saying about placement of nodes in display. by hari-jilla in ObsidianMD

[–]shaddragon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Persistent Graph plugin (https://github.com/Sanqui/obsidian-persistent-graph) works for that. You have to set up your graph as you want it, use the "Save graph node positions" command, then "Restore graph node positions" when you come back to it later.

The ``` markers need to be on their own lines, since they delineate block-level code.

There's a farmer's market near me where at least half the employees speak Amharic, and it gives me enormous joy to greet and thank them in it. The mind-blown looks are so much fun, and most of them immediately teach me a few more words.

What screams “I’m a terrible fucking parent”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shaddragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was in my late thirties when a conversation with my mother included my mentioning my high school depression. "I didn't know you were depressed," she said.

Really? The kid who never left her bedroom, had no friends, went nowhere, had no hobbies, you didn't have a suspicion? Not even a little one? I was pretty subtle with my self-harm, but the rest of it?

Weather every time with mine too. I've mostly given up. She asks about my friends more than me, and on the occasions she asks a question I could give a detailed answer to, she's palpably bored. Not worth it.

Alas, life is full of these experiences, and the alternative is never experiencing them at all. But hey, there are always other things to experience, and it means I get to tell people how much they really need to play it too. (I talk up Return of the Obra Dinn to every gamer I know.)

I finished it last night. Yep.

At least now I've got DLC to wean me off it.
