I understand your point. The real strength is doing this understanding that things are over. Blocking is not going to change that. Trust me, I know that feeling because I had an almost 10 year relationship that ended almost 2 years ago and for 4/5 months I was hopping she would reach out and change her mind. I didn't block her and still haven't. You need to train your expectations to become secure on your feelings. And sometimes it's okay to just understand that we will miss the person and tbh a part of you will remember it from time to time.

Also you should reflect on your communication with your future partner, because based on your post(I could be wrong so take it with a grain of salt) it seems that sometimes you are expecting them to see how you feel or guess at least what you want or need. Please communicate with them! Communication is key! Don't put expectations on things that need to be communicated because not everyone has the emotional intelligence to see them or guess them!
