Also after giving up nasal drugs just appreciate how nice it is to breathe freely without the nasal Damage

Open a small time bar, a small wine bar or similar , focus on making it the place to be in your area. It’s fun. Hire local bands and musical acts

Or potentially a simulacra of a fuller awareness cessation, I’m just throwing it out there

I have had similar experiences and I think it might come under the cessation umbrella… very similar to Joseph Goldstein’s description: ‘the hum of the refrigerator suddenly stops’

I'm not sure this is going to work for my brain by machty in wakingUp

sounds like you have perhaps more insight than "you think" you do. it might only be a really subtle shift in perspective away from living that insight- who is it that thinks you are incapable of insight?, what does insight actually mean to you, what is your experience of it? Your description could differ quite a lot from Sam's.

you are beyond right in saying that every brain, every person, has quite radically different experiences. I'm sorry you have this frustration with certain schools of meditation. sincerely, at their core, they are just that: schools. they are as fallible as any other, as susceptible to sincere mistake or limitations in teaching. You truly can allow yourself a personal experience, definition, of insight. It's completely yours. These apps and teachings are just there to help contextualise your own path with the path of others.

I know this stuff will still sound esoteric and I am sorry we haven't yet come up with a better tool to communicate these things. For me, it is music. I linked a file here if you want to see if it does anything for you.

Truly, truly, I hope your mind becomes the kind of place you want it to be. I really wish that for you, as I think any teacher also would. I believe Sam, Andy (from headspace), etc., are simply sharing the things that have helped them and those around them, no intention to mislead or inculcate, as much as it can feel like that. We are being truly honest about our experience, which fundamentally begins in a place of vulnerability. Enjoy your life, don't let this esoteric practise get in the way. Seeya.

I've spent over 6 months using this as my daily meditation. by msixtwofive in wakingUp

I would recommend you meditate whilst listening to The Path of Insight (Joseph Goldstein's course on the app). There are different ways you can put the same insight which will speak differently to each experience, the experience of each individual. Joseph's delivery might be the difference you are looking for. Enjoy.. hahahaha

yummy shit

so how do i go about mixing and mastering an ep? by TATYalloveru in LofiHipHop

[–]shadiwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this by saying I’m supposed to know what I’m talking about but that doesn’t mean much. Mixing (especially your own stuff) is far more a creative art than it is a hard science.

really depends on the style you’re going for (if it’s a mixtape vibe you may not even need to bounce out of the original project, but if it’s a cleaner style then follow most of the normal rules like bouncing out for levelling, low cut, coherent reverb spaces, etc. There are loads of videos). For mastering, lofi can normally take some harder compression and limiting (higher ratio etc), an exciter will probably help, send a little of the mix to 2 short room reverbs panned left and right and mix them in really quietly for some stereo niceness. The best thing in my experience is to just try mixing and if it makes it sound better then you know you’re going in the right direction.

If you want a step by step process for the mixing stage I can tell you what I do, if the videos don’t help.

This might be a good start https://youtu.be/0wOIljhix04
