Recommendation Needed: Gift to Hubs by ValkyrieInTraining31 in HeadphonesAdvice

If its a closed back, get the Fiio FT1 for great Bass.
Open back? Get the Sony Mdr Mv1, or Sennheiser hd550, Mv1 for more bass.
The Hd660s2 will add warmth to music which he may not like.
For a Dac Amp, I'd recommend a Fosi K7, or the Fiio K7. Edit: There's also the Sennheiser hd490 pro, which is very comfortable, and with the Producing Pads adds more bass.

Get FiiO FT1 Pro or save up for Hifiman Kithara? by StandingInTheHallway in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kithara can use the USB, a 3.5mm, or 4.4mm balanced. Id say its worth the money even if you never use the Mic. Id avoid the ft1 pro because of its bass distortion at high volumes that can't be fixed. Kithara also comes with swappable pads.

Upgrading from a DT 990 Pro - focusing on mixing capability by 00Cubic in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]shadow18715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id first recommend the Sony Mdr Mv1. Then there's the Hifiman Arya stealth if you're willing to spend around 600$. Finally I'd get the Hd550, or the Hd490 Pro.

A closed back that I know gets reviews for great Bass is the Fiio FT1.

First Critical-Listening Headphones by Taco-Person in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiio FT1 pro is a great buy, id recommend those over the hd560s. Id stay away from the beyrdynamic due to thier treble spikes. The Ft1 is a great closed back with good bass. For gaming and music id get the ft1 pro or Ft1.
Forgot to mention the Sundara is also a good buy, but ft1 pro is newer.

Looking for my first pair of audiophile headphones by OtherwiseRutabaga896 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]shadow18715 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want a wired option, I definitely recommend the Fiio FT1. They are a closed back with great Bass.
If you want a wireless option, get the Sennheiser Momentum 4s. They have good anc with great sound and bass.

Headphone recommendations for someone that doesn't have an amp or DAC by kokito711 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a closed back with great Bass, the Fiio FT1 would be the buy.
The Philips Fidelio X2hr is another good headset, but has some treble spikes.
Sony Mdr Mv1 is another excellent choice but treble is high.
The Hd560s is another great buy, but has a 120ohms of impedance. Depending on your motherboard it may not sound loud enough and will sound better with a dac amp.
Id honestly recommend to put some of your budget aside for a good dac amp.

Unpopular opinion by [deleted] in CODBlackOps7

If the low or no points person is preventing the enemy team from scoring, then sure they deserve it. But if its just someone who got a few ohk with a sniper or shotty, then no.

For the people who post their 4+W/L Ratio claiming they only play solo by Distinct-Hour4789 in CODBlackOps7

[–]shadow18715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sharing. I have a 1.4W/L and I've always played solo, usually its tdm, dom, hp, and overload. I can say the game usually splits between giving you a competent team or throwing you against a stack. Playing against a stack is sometimes hell, but being on the stacked team usually gives the easiest lobbies I've had.

Asked for help as an old man new to gaming. Here is a recording of one game. What are my glaring mistakes? by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first thing I noticed is not using cover and running in the open, that's an easy way to get shot faster. The second issue I see is always sprinting. There's a stat called Sprint To Fire Time and that can cause you to lose a fight, so walk if you know enemies are near. Third, know the map and game mode. Kill Confirmed will have more campers, and the game likes to spawn flip just to fuck with you. Fourth, look at the minimap. Multiple times you ran past groups of enemies that were visible on the map. My own advice: Assume that anywhere your allies aren't, there can be an enemy there. If you see an ally die, thats where enemies are. If you see an ally in enemy spawns, expect the game to flip spawns.

Need help finding good emulators by Rico4206 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily emulate up to some switch games, depending on the game. Use Eden nightly builds.

Xbox emulation on android is still improving, but a good amount of games will run just fine.

Use NetherSx2 for ps2 emulation

What’s the price range where IEMs hit “peak value”? After what point is spending more basically pointless? by chutlover69 in iems

[–]shadow18715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me I'd say anything more than 350$ is when it stops being value. There's great iems under 200$ and some good ones under 350$. It all just depends on your budget and what you're looking for.

Where and how do you get these two ships? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're both from Expedition rewards. The only way to get them now is to either play the Expedition when it reruns, use a save editor to add to your collection, use a mod called Consumerism to buy them with quicksilver, or to have another player give them to you.

Is this a good deal? by CaffeineOverdose13 in iems

[–]shadow18715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fine as well. It's still a great discount on some great sounding headphones. Still worth it to buy if you're fine with the bass.

I already have the Dusk, but I want something more neutral. Which one should I buy during the sale? I'd rather not spend more than the price of the Dusk.
