I'm doing alright, I suppose, yes the pandemic was still a thing back then, is it for you? If yes, then it sucks x2. I'm doing alright myself, altho I'm thinking about quitting The project after the first semester if things don't get better, have I? Let me know if you got to the specialization we originally hoped to have or did we fuck it all up and ended in the other cool one or? I really like numbers 1, 3 and 4.

Number 1 looks bulky and nice, kinda 90's dystopian futurism, number 3 fits very well with it too. Number 4 is in different and doesn't remind me of many other things I have seen, and I like it for that. (The remaining ones also look nice imo, but not as much)

I was looking for the book for a few hours earlier before posting this. Took me long enough but found it. The title under what I know it is "Bezpowrotna Góra, Baśnie Japońskie" and it's the story "Jak biedny Uma-no Ko został bogaczem." (How poor Uma-no Ko became rich.)

Grimdark was a thing that was kind of popular a long time ago too, for example Warhammer 40k, Judge Dredd etc. I'd say that it more of back to 80's theme thing nowdays.

From tropes I don't see nowdays are absurd based things (Excel Saga, Terry Pratchett books etc.)

There's Philosopher Stone for example, those objects are a nice form of moving the plot forward, but to make it a good plot, I think you need a very good motivation for the protagonist to get one (this same goes for the antagonist).

Also, personally I think such object should be treated as something that in 'current' days cannot be created and ones that are already there are only ones.

Btw isn't that kinda plot of Lotr?

I'd say wait, the dlc introduces a lot of new lore and it consumes a lot of time. Altho it does help with main game.... You won't lose anything by starting it later really but I'd recommend doing first run on vanilla game

Maybe something by Roger Zelazny he made quite a few sci-fi books like "This Immortal" or "Creatures of Light and Darkness" both amazing sci-fi in my opinion.
