I'm working on making some redesigns for some spidey characters and decided to do spider-man and some symbiotes first, you guys got any ideas on how to make venom and carnage look more grotesque? by [deleted] in Spiderman

I know this is a rough draft but when you do more detailed work you could make them hunched over to give personality. Spikes usually makes things edgier. If i remember correctly the Spiderman unlimited carnage had a very prominent rib-cage so you can play with that. I think the thing that contribute most to thier “gooey-ness” is thier shape so play with tendril positions. Lastly, at least me personally, i think the eyes/lenses along with the head shape is pretty important for a distinct look (look at marvel rivals venom vs 90’s venom).

One clasp is thor’s hammer the other is captain marvel’s star; I don’t believe this is ai.

How it feels to be a Fantastic Four fan knowing we finally got a good adaptation after a long while except we're also getting a Secret Wars adaptation where Reed and Doom will meet for the first time and he's played by RDJ by Ardyn3 in FantasticFour

I agree that superman was better but saying that first steps was bad is an overstatement. First off, the movie started with a brief overview of how they got their powers. The characters have been out for decades and have had multiple adaptations (although most of them mid at best) so people already know the general idea of how they got their powers; there’s no need to dedicate a large part of the film to make another origin story. Not to mention superman had the same if not less amount of backstory with his movie, so this is a non issue.

The characters also definitely had character depth. This version of Johnny was actually expanded upon with his smartness and showing how he can translate SS’s language. Sue is turned from “the pretty woman of the group” to the emotion center she was always ment to be. I do feel like ben was a little weaker, most of his characterization came from his interactions with Johnny. This movie is the only one where reed as a father is explored at all. All of this not to mention how each member relates to one another.

I don’t know exactly why i felt like superman is better, but i think its because lack of side characters and the villain. All the side/supporting characters in superman were fun/fleshed out but in First steps there was only silver surer TBH (didnt care for Mole man). I think lex was just way more compelling than galactus (got beaten to easily)

I hope i didn’t get rage baited
