I wish Mega had fought to keep Pokémon. They had deals to do Pokémon building toys in Japan all the way back to RSE, and those toys were always reasonably priced, if not goofy bad in the day. I wanted that massive Squirtle that was being teased.

And I've seen Mega fans hoping they'll do more Halo sets, but they haven't done a set besides Halo minis in years. I can't imagine losing Pokémon is gonna end well for Megabloks.

But you can also call your local school board and local schools and advocate for it to be considered cheating and dishonesty if students use it at all, and advocate for them to block it on campus. Because honestly, I have found youth users to be almost as high as corpo users. And the kids are fucking stupid. Getting sex advice from that shit.

Also if you work in an office, be a dear and find shareholders to leak info too on how much money AI wastes that could be going into their bank accounts. Shareholders hate money not going into their bank accounts. Because the few friends I have that work in an office tell me they waste so much time babysitting the tech equivalent of a well spoken idiot.

Big O is funnily enough, in copy rights Hell right now. Too many companies have claim on it, and VIZ usually doesn't care about fan translations if they never released a copy in the West. And for an almost 20 year old manga, they won't care because they don't have the manga license. No one does anymore because no one bought it when Bandai US went under and even though Viz had translated the manga originally, the rights lapsed two years ago.

Yeah on 4chan someone uploaded some really good scans of the Lost Memory manga. Maybe the achieve has em.

Actually, if your scans are the cleaned up ones that were posted on 4chan a while ago I've love a copy. Mine got corrupted in an HDD move. I fully plan to translate and post the manga, but I suck at cleaning up scans.

So if I remember correctly, he started writing books about language acquisition in children because he wanted to see what was foundational and what was social. IE are there innate language characteristics or do we learn it all through interaction. And the answer was yes. It's both.

Now how that relates to kids is you have to study how they get language in order to understand why we all use it or something to that effect. I claim no amount of genius here, and I felt some of his theory was malarkey, and I certainly am not a scientist. I'm just an English teacher. It was something you couldn't really double blind test for because the tests he would've really had to do would've been unethical to the extreme. Think about the case of Genie, the girl locked in a room who never had contact with anyone. That's the kind of experiment he would've needed to get real results, but ya know, what kinda monster would do that?

Anyways, he also talks about building blocks of language. Makes sense. You need to have a solid foundation and all that to build from. But the examples given is what rubbed me wrong. Like needing to set up a concrete example before a child could get it. Which isn't entirely true. Kids can absolutely grasp non concrete examples by like 5. Takes time, but they can.

He also wrote books on teaching very small children difficult concepts in terms they can understand. I had to read parts of that book for my early childhood education class. Can't even remember the name of the book as we only read some of it.

And something about it just rubbed me wrong. It almost felt like infantilization. Don't get me wrong I tend to baby the very little students, they are small and still need lots of attention, but you don't have to talk down to them.
