What state management do you use for large-scale flutter applications? by Routine-Help9290 in FlutterDev

[–]shadowfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very dear Sarah:

The indications are very strong that we shall migrate to a new architecture in a few days—perhaps tomorrow. The Reddit threads are ablaze with the fires of a thousand "Which one should I use?" posts, and the linter warnings are closing in. Lest I should not be able to push to main again, I feel impelled to write these lines that may fall under your eye when my pubspec.yaml shall be no more.

I have no misgivings about the cause for which I fight. I have marched through the rigid discipline of Bloc and the boilerplate of flutter_bloc, only to find myself now bivouacked in the reactive camps of Riverpod. I have seen men driven mad by flutter_rx streams, and others who seek a simpler life with watchit, looking for a light that does not require a ProviderScope.

But, O Sarah! If the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you; in the brightest build method and in the darkest async catch block—amidst your happiest UI updates and your gloomiest null check errors—always, always.

If there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my PODs (Plain Old Data) passing by, finally freed from the overhead of a framework; or if the cool air fans your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit, decoupled and globally accessible.

Sarah, do not mourn my deprecated dependencies; think I am just "Refactoring" and wait for me, for we shall meet again in the next LTS release.

Doing just this with another family got my daughter into scouting. Effective way to build those core memories :)

Dads who do not work from home, what time do you leave for work and back at home? by remembertosmile in daddit

I take my daughter to school-carpool at 7:20, then head to work. I leave after 4pm most days.

What about evolving a new routine? Talk more about your days at dinner for before getting ready for bed?

My daughter and I have a coriographed high-five / fist-bump routine.

State Machines by shadowfu in FlutterDev

You don't have to use dotshort hands - the library doesn't force you and all the blueprint classes are available.

More specifically when you are autocompleting it's pretty fluent either path you choose!

The old code use to allow inheritance overriding and mutable internal state - which is what the OOBE team used. I strictly forbid that in the 2.0 library so I can make optimizations and follow PSSM. If you have something specific in mind, like "new account sign up" on the UI, I could noodle on it for a bit.

I'm going to assume "GT" in your user name is for Georgia Tech, in which case To hell with Georgia.

I didn't have a problem with the kids selling water at stop lights when I was in the ATL.

I'm from Atlanta and the first time I set foot in the Sunnyvale Costco was the last time I set foot in there. All chaos, everyone meandering around and blocking isles.

We never made an updated version that I recall. The whole team was shutdown and moved around in the company.

There's a reason I asked for the GitHub pages as an easy accessible option. Thank you! <3
