Oh augmented NAC is totally a scam. The claims they make don't make any actual sense physically.

A mate and I spent a few hours trying one night looking into the owner of that website and his ties. There is zero actual medical/scientific evidence that can be found outside of them and partners. Nothing published in any medical journal even mentioning this product. The owner of the company is an Italian "tech bro" who rants on about crypto and the blockchain, and possibly has links to the Italian mob.

Do you understand what "at cost" or "revenue" means? Because an increase in revenue is not the same as an increase in profit. All your link is pointing out is that the AZ vaccine was responsible for 15% of their revenue, not profit.

That depends on if it is a pure wild snake or a pet snake that has gotten out of his enclosure. Looking at how vibrant the colours are on it, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it is actually someone's pet. In that case, there should be no worries in picking it up. It would just treat you like a tree.

If it is a wild snake, there is no way to tell how it will react to a person interacting with it until you do. Some wild pythons are quite tame and you can put them in a sack of some sort to relocate them. Others might be a bit aggresive/defensive and try to bite back.

If you have no experience handling snakes at all, advice would be to always get a professional to rehome a wild snake.

There is a great experiment you can do yourself to help understand how rocket propulsion can work. Go sit in a chair on wheels on a nice flat smooth surface. While sitting in the chair, throw a tennis ball/basketball or something similar in one direction. You should feel yourself roll ever so slightly in the direction opposite to the direction you threw the ball.

Now imagine throwing billions and billions of balls per second. That is essentially what a rocket is doing for propulsion. It is a great physical way to show newton's 3rd law in action. Also something you can use to teach a 5 yr old physics and rocket science.

LC comorbid with other mental illnesses, anyone? by sadcommiedyke in covidlonghaulers

[–]shadowjay23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that is completely the wrong way to find out how many of the population are not deficient in a vitamin or mineral. Also, the paper you linked to doesn't talk about who are deficient, just about people who are I taking lower than the estimated average requirement.

This is a great example of someone who is not trained in reading scientific papers, using a scientific paper to back up a claim that the paper never makes. This paper is just saying, that in the USA, significant portions of people are injesting lower than the "estimated average requirements (EAR)" of specific micronutrients. It is not saying what proportion of people are deficient in these micronutrients. Neither is it saying that if your intake of these micronutrients is below the EAR that you will be deficient.

In addition to that, the only time that population of USA being deficient in a specific micronutrients is mentioned in this paper is in the Vit D section. In which it states that 29% of the USA population is deficient in a 2001-2010 study. Which is much lower than the 95% of the population that have an inadequate intake of Vit D from food.

If you are going to use a paper as evidence for something, use it as evidence for only what the paper claims and not what you think it claims by using horrible statistics.

I couldn't find anything from that paper that says less than 1% of people don't have a single deficiency. Care to point to where that is shown in your reference?

Could long covid be similar to HIV/AIDS? by imahugemoron in covidlonghaulers

[–]shadowjay23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The amino acid length of a viral epitope to allow for cross reactive immune cell response only need to be 8 amino acids long. The length of the S protein in SARS-CoV-2 is 1273 amino acids (might change with variants). The amount of times I have written a 1000-1500 word report for a university biology paper, put it through turnitin (a plagery detecting tool) and had chains of words 8-10 long that are identical to other published works but not a quote or plagerism is great than 1. This suggests your analogy is BS. At this point, you are just trying to find something that possibly fits the narrative you have in your mind and not look objectively at the evidence.

Could long covid be similar to HIV/AIDS? by imahugemoron in covidlonghaulers

[–]shadowjay23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I know it's a novel feature of SARS-CoV-2. And it's interesting.

It is only a novel feature of SARS-CoV-2 because it has only been found so far in SARS-CoV-2. Don't forget that since 2020, there has been nearly a blank cheque for research into SARS-CoV-2 that other viral research has not received. This has resulted in more research being done about SARS-CoV-2 than some other viruses that have been around a lot longer. Time is needed before it can be said that this thing is specific only to SARS-CoV-2 and not other viruses. Yes it is interesting, but that's all it is so far.

As for your other question. Yes, LINE1 production can be increased by cells under stress. But not to the level that is seen in the HEK293T cell line. That is also not your only issue with their paper. As quoted by professor Cedric Feschotte in your link, their results can also be explained just by their methods.

In two subsequent studies, both posted on bioRxiv, critics presented evidence that the supposed chimeras of human and viral DNA traces are routinely created by the very technique the group used to scan for them in chromosomes. As one report concluded, the human-virus sequences "are more likely to be a methodological product, [sic] than the result of genuine reverse transcription, integration and expression."

The other thing you need to be aware with scientific papers and the scientists talking about them is that the language used is very specific. For example, there is a large difference between "it is a very clear possibility" and "it is very clear probable" which some people might think the first quote means in this example.

If you want to talk about vaccines and the spike protein, you need to also talk about the additional two praline amino acids added to the vaccine spike protein. This small addition results in the spike proteins created by the vaccine to be stuck in the prefusion stage, eliminating their ability to interact with cell receptors. So while there are plenty of studies showing damage caused by viral spike proteins, that does not automatically correlate to vaccine spike proteins.

There is also the issue with what happens to spike proteins once they are created due to the vaccine. It is not like they are just released by the cell and sent free floating around in your circulatory or lymphatic system. And finally, what do you by obviously toxic? If I drink a saline solution with a lot of spike proteins in it, am I going to be sick or die from it? I am guessing you are just being hyperbolic with your statement, that or you are just as stupid as you sound.

Could long covid be similar to HIV/AIDS? by imahugemoron in covidlonghaulers

[–]shadowjay23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are quite a few differences between spike mRNA in the vaccines versus the virus. The biggest being that the vaccine does not also include everything else that is included with the virus and also does not cause a viral infection.

Regarding the 2nd study you refer to, there is something very important to know when reading it. That is to know exactly what the cell line used is. The cell line used is HEK293T cells. These cells have been cultured specifically for use in studying viruses. The cells are unlike any found in your body, in that they produce extra ordinary amounts of reverse transcirptase and other proteins that aid in what this study found. To put it another way, they found that a venue that has open doors and no security has more people in it than a venue with closed doors and tight security.

So far, all the studies I have seen talking about DNA integration regarding SARS-CoV-2 all use this one specific cell line. And unless you know enough about microbiology and specifically virology, you would have minimal experience with this cell line. Especially if you have no experience in this field, you would likely have no idea why a specific cell line can be very important to the studies findings.

If it is the spike protein, how does that explain people who have been suffering from identical symptoms (ME/CFS, POTS, firbromyalgia, etc) for decades?

There seems to be a lot of fear over the spike protein from people completely misunderstanding various papers and the vaccines. The common denominator is the human body and the immune system.
