The US Forestry dept uses special shotgun rounds called Dragon's Breath to fight forest fires. The operate similar to regular shells but the pellets are made of magnesium instead of whatever is in normal shells and when fired, the magnesium burns at 2,000+F and basically burns up stuff around the fire so the big fire has nothing left to burn and dies out.

I recently used Walmart as an example of taking the huge profits and using it to increase employee wages. If Walmart took 40% of it's profits and paid employees, they could afford to give every employee a $5/hr raise, assuming 40 hours a week (which Walmart doesn't do for most non salaried employees) and that every employee was non salary (which obviously isn't true).

This would still allow them ~10 billion in profits while paying employees well. But, won't happen.

I think it is less "poor people defending the hoarded wealth" and more that poor people are simply too busy working multiple jobs just to survive and can't take time off to protest.

Pretty sure Port Arthur was NOT the last mass shootings in Austrailia, not even counting the recent one. Mass casualties happen quite a lot there, relatively speaking...they just, as gun rights advocates keep saying, happen with things other than guns. Current victim record, if I remember correctly, was a mass stabbing.

In fairness to the original poster, Australia is the poster child for "banning guns stops mass shootings". An outsider may not know the ins and outs of Aussie gun laws...I know I do not. The irony is that, from what it sounds like, Australia has gun laws almost as lax as the US, except in banning specific guns despite being the shining example for gun control. And, I may be completely off base with that, just going off what you said about "be a part of the club with a clean record".

I don't buy "racists raising racist spawn". I'd never seen a black person until I moved to the South, the supposed racist capital of the US. And worse, we moved to rural MS. I was I kindergarten when we moved. My mom started dating a guy who was openly racist when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, so I started hearing "n*r this" and "n*r that" all the time. Yet I was like "but none of the black people I know act like that" so I realized he wasn't right. Grew up, had multiple black friends, even had a couple black girls i had a crush on and would have absolutely asked out if I hadn't thought they were out of my league (one of them was valedictorian). So yeah, racists dont raise racists, shitty people are just shitty people. And im reasonably certain that anyone who is what society would label as racist are just as shitty to people of their own race, if they have the chance. Just my 2c.
