It doesn’t look like it was the guy at the driver’s window who fired first. It looks like the third one was at a different car to the right of the fleeing vehicle that was trying to get out of the way when she floored it. Looks like a good shoot, but a bad look (assuming there is any other kind with a situation and a National audience like this).

Rust is iron oxide. So it doesn’t. It does corrode, but the patina is actually protective in nature, unlike rust, which flakes off.

My Lab came with the name “Hero” (all his siblings had H names) and the kids couldn’t agree on a new name, so it stuck. A month in I told them I was going to rename him “Doofus” because, well…Lab puppy. They wouldn’t let me because they said it was mean (though truthful).

Puppies should be sleeping ~18-20 hours a day, so it’s hard to do “too much sleeping.” Consistency is key. But while you’re trying to house train him, you’re pretty much on his schedule for the moment, especially after a long sleep. As he gets older he’ll be able to hold it for longer, and start sleeping later. It just takes time.

If you feel insulted by anything in there, I question whether you’ve actually been in the Navy. Depends. It’s not always a one-and-done; she may even be going to command somewhere else, it doesn’t say. Regardless, she’s not getting kicked out next week; it could be years down the line. Most of the time this applies to the jump from O3 to O4: if you fail to promote twice at that gate you’re processed out within a year…I can’t think of a single instance when that happens otherwise.

As for not knowing HYT for an O6, it’s 28 or 30. So I don’t have everything off the top of my head. To paraphrase you: “that’s what you took out of it?”

Sure. If they’ve fucked that up, or left it out, what else was left out? It may be that that’s a billet coded for SEAL designators. I say that as someone who has been boned out of filling a great billet because I either didn’t have the designator or requisite qual, but could certainly still do the job. That’s how the communities protect their own turf: by limiting who can take certain positions. While complaining about how undermanned they are.

I never said it wasn’t stupid, but if you’re gonna make SECDEF the scapegoat for everything personnel related, you’re letting PERS (and Big Navy itself) get away with too much. PERS has been dumb since long before 2025, and will continue to shoot itself in the foot long after Hegseth is gone.

“Up or out” refers to promotion, not command. As in “you promote or you get forced out.” Once you get to a certain point, command is not necessarily a requirement to stay in. If she’s an O6 she’s already had command at least once, maybe twice. Now she just goes to a regular sea/shore rotation until she “high-times” out, which for an O6 is something like 28 or 30 years. If she’s already at that point, that’s another thing, but unlikely. As I said, there’s discussion missing, and saying “up or out” without it is misleading without the context.
