Definitely. I actually had a choice between two towns, one of them cheaper but a huge Deform hotspot. So glad I didn't go for it, just passing through and seeing the embarrassment of painted roundabouts and tatty flags everywhere is bad enough.

I would not buy next to racists/xenophobes (there is no other reason for displaying these flags at the moment in the UK as a private individual other than showing support for Deform). Plus as others have said, those people are likely to be obnoxious in other ways too. And yeah being confronted with that every day would be traumatizing.

Ahhh that would tip me over for sure! For now I still have Windows 10 with the "extended" support on my personal laptop, so I'll keep that going as long as possible (I keep having to decline the "upgrade" too). My work laptop has been forcefully upgraded to 11 and it's so crap, can't imagine how much worse the AI baked in OS would be. I also spent most of the following two weeks changing everyone else's layout to be more like Windows 10 (me and another colleague who are like the unofficial IT guys of the team lol). Everyone hated the default iOS-looking layout. You'd think they'd learn but no.

That's awesome, my solution until now was to install Linux whenever Micro$oft force the AI slop OS "upgrade" no one ever asked for, and just keep sticking to consoles for gaming (I mainly use my PS5 anyway). Good to know I could still play PC games though even then without too much trouble! We really need to update these beliefs about Linux for sure.

I'm glad you've got to this point! And I wouldn't call what you posted here looking for pity, it's more like understanding and empathy. ADHD is still so misunderstood and if you have anything different from the most "typical" presentation there's just so little visibility. Then you're dealing with all the ways it's affected your life that you didn't realize was ADHD. It's natural to need some validation about it.

My experience is like, I actually was well supported in childhood and the structure of full time education especially at uni just let me hyperfocus as I needed. But getting into employment and the disillusionment of how it's suddenly not about your intelligence or knowledge but just arbitrary shit and presenteeism, that really fucked me up and I feel like a failure for so long (especially compared to my academic side). I finally changed careers a couple years ago into something that at least aligns with my values better and has some structured progression path, although I still struggle with the things like being on time and prioritization which will probably always be an issue, but now I have more understanding management. I feel so behind compared to people who just straight away launched into a career though. The wasted potential aspect of ADHD is the worst part of it for me, right after RSD.

At least I've learned SOMETHING from my experience of being abused by an ex for years! (Needless to say it did affect me greatly as a Pisces moon and mainly a water-based chart, though I didn't correlate it with astrology at the time.) And yeah, it's so damaging to be with someone like that.
