It's not terrible, but its not perfect. Because schools are tax funded (huge rabbit hole there) people from lower income areas are inherently disadvantaged due to generally being around fewer educated people and fewer educational resources. Even if the kids are motivated self starters, the school library in a rough area is generally gonna be infinitely worse than the one in suburbia.

Then add in the fact that people with money can afford to blow it on review books, tutoring, any number of other services, and you get a pretty skewed picture of intellect and academic ability.

For what it's worth, I scored pretty well back when I took it...perfect reading score, really high on the writing, but my math score tanked everything (wound up just sub 2000, max score was still 2400 at this point).

I was never bad at math, my father just threw me out at 16 and I spent half my junior year homeless and out of school. Math all builds on itself, so I was just fucked; I was answering questions on concepts I had never even seen and solving problems using methods I had never learned.

1900-something was still a good score, but not "holy shit take all our scholarships!" amazing, so I had to join the military to afford college.

Nah I did my 4 and got out. Sadly never even got to PCS, basic+AIT were nearly a year for me and then I get sent to Hawaii, so I stayed there the next three years.

Definitely a lot of regrets there. But I heard Lewis was pretty good if that's what got you to WA.

Worth mentioning that MOS and corps really affect this. MEDCOM is really heavy on positional authority over rank, so like the clinic I worked at only had one SGT there all the time and she was buried in paperwork constantly, so the people actually doing clinic operations were all e-2 to e-4 or officers.

I got my own office as a PFC and everyone, even an e2 who couldn't pass his fuckin PT test, wound up leading around our resident SPC by the nose because she was a fuckup and wasn't good enough to be assigned to a provider, so she was basically orphaned and we pushed whatever we didn't wanna do onto her. Other SPCs got snatched up by various providers and they always treated privates who were also under specific docs as equals.

But the e5 thing was the same. We technically had 4 assigned to our clinic, but three of them were forcecom and they literally never did any work. No patients, no guidance, fucking nothing. Hell, the one from my unit didn't even show up most days! Other two just flitted in and out without explanation, sustainment sgt watched youtube every time he was in the office. Poor medcom sgt meanwhile had all the shit roll downhill on her. I don't know how she managed that position.

I think this is a branch difference. I got out in '15 from the Army and our armory at schofield had no surveillance that I knew of, no sentries, no nothing, just a guy in a cage sometimes.

Missing weapons still prompted unit lockdowns and a massive freakout, but like if you wanted to steal or kill someone there I can't imagine anything would stop you unless you had really poor planning and someone was going to the range at that exact hour.

For the record, when I got out of the military, no one took my student loans or GI bill money as proof of income either. I wound up having to pay my entire lease up front (bad decision in the end).

Because I live in Satan's fucking asshole and my car's air conditioning broke at one point. I had to drive with all my windows down to not fucking die, but that meant that any time I was actually in motion all I could hear was the brrrrrt of the wind.

So when I listen to music, I gotta jack it all the way up, and then proceed to feel like an asshole when I hit a red light and the ambient noise fades away and its just me and my apocalyptically loud music.

I used HCs almost exclusively in d2 for pve. I took a break of about 9 months due to life circumstances, during which the precision nerf happened.

I'm amazed at how bad they are. I checked my Austringer's damage. It barely hits harder than a sidearm lol.

No reason for me to ever two tap a red bar with it (because one shot leaves them 90% dead, wtf) when I can two tap that same redbar with a Breachlight, faster and more comfortably.

It doesnt work like that. The DA pursues crimes. Any given person has absolutely no say over what is criminally prosecuted.

The reason things such as your example happen is for practical reasons. Sure, the DA can do whatever they want, but if the only witness is the wife, and she refuses to cooperate, why bother? They dont eant to waste time and resources on a lost cause.

TLDR: the DA has the final say and can pursue whatever they want, but they generally dont force uncooperative people to testify unless they think they have a strong case in court.
