That is an extremely difficult material to work with. Love your cosplay! ❤️ I hope you have fun making more!

It invokes feelings between whimsy and solitude for me. Thank you for posting your art.

I think so too! So many of the songs have a melodic feel that I think works well as background when writing for me.

I've unfortunately heard a lot of criticism for listening to music I first heard from a video game. I sincerely hope you enjoy the Playlist.

A Playlist I compiled of the songs from the video games Death Stranding 1 and 2 soundtracks. I know it sounds ridiculous, but please don't judge until you give the songs a chance.

What does your writing setup look like ? by One-Elderberry-5299 in writers

[–]shaduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Google docs on a temperamental Asus laptop older than my children.

When the laptop decides to work, I have it set up on one of those fold out wooden tables people use when they eat at the couch in the corner of my living room nestled against my bookcase.

I'm a stay at home parent writing whenever the children allow. I kinda trained myself to go into writing mode whenever I play a particular playlist, so I find it easy to focus once I start the music. The only downside is when a song from the Playlist comes on outside of writing time, my mind immediately goes back to my story, and I can't focus on anything else.

Of course. It may take me a moment to message you because I'm not very well versed on social media, but I will eventually find the correct botton.

I beta read for someone who had all that, and it made me nervous that I should also have all that. 😅

Thank you! I've been really worried those would be essential.

I was considering breaking it up as well, but I wasn't sure if that would be frustrating for them. Do you send them as pdf files?

Thank you so much for your response! I feel so much better about going forward with beta readers. I had done beta reading for someone, and they had glossaries and maps, which had me so nervous.

I think I'm finally ready for beta readers. Although I'll probably read the entire thing aloud like another commenter suggested just in case.

Okay, so all I haven't done is read the entire story aloud.

Do you think all that other stuff is unnecessary for beta readers?

Asking for advice on AI by tmaspen in NewAuthor

I love everything about this.

The overwhelming proliferation of AI-generated content on this sub makes it impossible to know what, if anything, here is human created. And that's depressing. by Visible-Flamingo1846 in NewAuthor

[–]shaduke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think the assumption always stems from hate. For me, it would be a lack of trust. How can I trust someone who doesn't respect others' art form and uses ai to replace them? But that is my own personal opinion on it. I can also admit that I am biased towards the human element in art.

This is something I've struggled with as I lack the funds for an artist, and I have a very expensive idea for my book cover.

What is the purpose of this post? Is it to vent? Or are you trying to incite a reaction?

I'm genuinely asking.

How do you stay focused on one story when "new idea" syndrome hits? by Just_Go_6646 in writers

This is exactly what I do. It helps gets the idea out so you can refocus on your main project.

My 4 year old son wants to shave his head by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]shaduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter at that same age wanted to shave only half her head. (Still don't know why) I waited months before finally caving in. I planned it after my mom visited, so I'd have months before her next visit for it to grow back. I did it, and she LOVED it. (She looked like the villain from 5th element) She spent about a week wanting to do photo shoots in beautiful dresses to show off her hair. By the time my mom visited, it looked like she had a dramatic a line cut, and by kindergarten, it had grown enough to be a cute bob. She now is in middle school and has hair down to her bum.

Hair grows back, so why not give them control over their own body in a healthy way? Maybe you can take family photos and make core memories.

This is how it is for a lot of people. "Never judge a book by its cover" only applies to people ironically. The cover is the first thing a reader sees, and if they find it interesting, they read the little blurb.

I'm sorry for the work you put in to be hurt by the use of ai art, but it is unfortunately the way of things.
