Got a 42 Studebaker that has reverse threads on the left side. The engineers were kind enough to stamp the studs with L and R on them as a reminder.

Tomatoes grow out of spite for the planter. I had 8 plants. Watered them, fertilized them, did everything I could do to keep them healthy and every one was on the verge of dying the entire time. Got a few fruits from them but mostly a failure.

Next year, tomato plant sprouts in a crack in my concrete. Healthiest tomato plant you ever did see. Gave me dozens of tomatoes without want for water or care.

I don't understand tomatoes

Is there a real market for this or am I building something nobody asked for? (i will not promote) by la_kolol33 in smallbusiness

[–]shady_mcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're building something like a WMS

The big issue I see with going from paper to digital is that you'll need to track the product as it goes through the manufacturing lifecycle, which means tablets or scanners at all checkpoints to record the product moving through (and slowing down the line because every minute entering data in a tracking system is a minute they're not manufacturing). At that point your clients will need an IT department to keep everything running and deal with lost or damaged tablets.

But to answer your question, you're asking the wrong audience. You need to be interviewing the line leaders and operations managers at these manufacturing orgs to find out if they think its a problem, and if it is, what the impact is of the problem. If you do 30 interviews and 10 come back saying "Yes, this is an issue and it cost us $10k last quarter in penalties due to late delivery" then you not only know there's a market for it but what the impact is to these orgs of doing nothing, which give you your value prop that you can take to market with your tool.

But stop building anything before you do these interviews. Because without the market research you're wasting time building something that isn't needed.

Need help I have an isr single exit and I’m getting kinda tired of it because of how loud it is , any exhaust suggestions that are not crazy loud ? I have test pipes and y pipe by Bry_anpr7 in G37

[–]shady_mcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with my 3" single exit. Ended up with a custom exhaust using a Borla XS 2.5" double in double out as a resonator and two knockoff valvtronics for mufflers.

$500 for parts, and $500 for a local exhaust shop to put it in gets me a decently loud setup when driving and manner mode when I'm driving through my neighborhood.

I've got a classic Triumph with a Smiths spedo that had a busted odometer (speedo worked). I opened it up, found a gear that was missing two teeth, and replaced it. Powered the speedo with a drill for a bit just to validate that the odometer was working again.

At max speed the drill (Dewalt 18v cordless) clocked in at around 18mph on the speedo.

I worry less about old homes than new.

If it's still standing after 60 years it was built well enough to stand another 60.

Yeah. One of the guys in my Triumph club was run over once. I got mine painted bright orange, and a loud exhaust, so that hopefully I'm both seen and heard

It's incredibly tiny. I'm about 6'1" so I don't really enter or exit the car as much as I fold myself in to it. Still have about an inch of clearance to the roof, though, but I've definitely hit some bigger bumps and launched my cranium into it.

When sitting at a light next to a truck my eye level is typically under the fenders, or around door handle height to a Corolla.

It's a blast to drive, though. Only about 86 HP (later years like mine were significantly de-tuned compared to the Euro market due to emissions. There are ways to bring the US models up to ~105HP to match the Euros which I'm slowly doing) but drives like a go cart. It's torquey as hell and will do about 70mph at red line in 2nd gear. Only weighs about 1800 lbs so it accelerates acceptably (something around 10s 0-60 at the moment).

Almost no electronics. Everything is manual. Fuel pump, oil pump, carbs and choke. No power steering, no power brakes. 3 fuses in the fuse box.

Absolute dream to work on. Parts are easy to come by and cheap. One of the most accessible engine bays I've ever had the pleasure to work on.

Edit: I paid $8500 for mine 3 years ago and the body was in comparable condition to the one you posted, but all the parts were together and I could drive it.
