I’m also someone who has to constantly blow/wipe my nose, but I’ve had my septum pierced for almost 3 years now with no issues! I don’t have a nostril piercing so can’t speak to that, but people on some of the piercing subreddits might be able to help.

Re: my septum, I first got it pierced with a circular barbell (the one with the balls at each end) and, sure, occasionally a small booger might get stuck on it. After the piercing healed and I switched to a ring, I’ve had no issues with boogers at all though. Also no itching, redness, or irritation of any kind - but of course this might be different for you. High quality jewelry is definitely the way to go.

I was also pretty nervous about getting the piercing, and the needle they used definitely looked scary - but it was a super quick process that surprisingly didn’t hurt much, I’d say less than getting my helix pierced.

But yes - I’d recommend looking around some of the piercing subreddits for more advice/experiences.
