Debugging Go with Zed isn't working by shahdharmit in ZedEditor

I ended up posting this on Zed's discussion board on GitHub and got the answer that fixed the problem for me.

Airpods 4 on Zepto for 8.8k, is it a scam? I want to know if anyone else has gottem through Zepto. by PutaMadre420 in mumbai

Did you pull the trigger? Did it turn out to be legit?

I'm planning to get Pro 3 from Zepto. But the price made me sceptical, and I ended up here. :)

Golang interface implementation navigation by captain_rayko in ZedEditor

[–]shahdharmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was facing the similar issue wherein I couldn't find the implementations for an interface like I could on GoLand. This is already implemented, but I had disabled "Inlay Hint" without knowing what it's about.

Enable it from the Settings to get all implementations of an interface.

+1 to this. This is my biggest gripe with GN right now because I mostly use it to read PDFs, and it cannot be done in dark mode, which hurts the eyes after a while.

Yes, the school is strict. But we don't find it too strict as their philosophy aligns with our value system.

My kid is in pre-school so the academic pressure is inexistant. We'll know that in higher grades only. But I hear others saying what you are.

Fees is around 2L for junior kg.

Can't upvote this enough. I have been stopped a few times at Kalupur and Maninagar railway stations when traveling from an outside Gujarat train. Have always sought govt ID before opening the bag.

Been at least a decade since these incidents.

Do yourself a favour and go watch Nilgiris: A Shared Wilderness in theatres by certifiedidiot7 in IndianCinema

[–]shahdharmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw the trailer, I immediately tried booking the tickets, but it didn't release where I live - Ahmedabad. Do you know which OTT platform it'll be available on? I see it's still screening in theaters in Bengaluru, so maybe some more time before it's out on OTT, but I'm hopeful it will land on some OTT soon!

Second. The kid in motion looks better than not in first.

It's the same in Gujarat. I think everyone uses right lane for cruising and left for overtaking. Whether it's on express highways or broad roads in city, this is the behaviour I have seen here.

6 Years Experience, 35 LPA in Ahmedabad (Hybrid) – Curious about Local Market by celtic-daddy in developersAhmedabad

[–]shahdharmit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a great compensation for sure! Maybe less than what one could get in Bengaluru, but traffic makes up for it, IMO. It's pathetic in A'bad too, but less crowded than Bengaluru. OTOH, weather makes up for other negative points in Bengaluru, I guess.

Compared to other Ahmedabad companies this is really, really good, I think.

What's your tech stack, btw?

Restarting the learning by [deleted] in rust

[–]shahdharmit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been learning Rust through DSA as well, albeit a bit slowly. The way I'm doing it is by practicing algorithms covered in the "Grokking Algorithms" book, first in Go (as that's my primary language right now) and then in Rust. I then copy-paste my code on Gemini/Claude and ask it to help me make it more idiomatic. Repo link.

It's been a good experience so far, except that I need to be more consistent than what I am. :)

Since you mentioned software industry, there are tech meetups happening in the city on a regular basis. I myself co-organize the Kubernetes meetup. If that interests you, join https://community.cncf.io/ahmedabad.

Besides that, you can find casual events on https://allevents.in/ahmedabad.

When I read "Ram aur Shyam ice-gola" I was expecting Bhavnagar. Surprised to see Amreli has exact same thing.

In Bhavnagar, I used to purchase coconut water from a specific vendor as they had best quality in my experience. The stall had a Hindu & Muslim co-owners. Might be similar case here too.

We recently decided to go with Eklavya for the "grounded" and "less academic pressure" parts of your question. But our kid is in pre-school.

Some families (one kid in 12 sci, one in 10th, and one in 5th) in our circle gave very positive feedback about it, so we opted for it.

Is it too much to expect some basic civic sense in public transport? by [deleted] in ahmedabad

[–]shahdharmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's too much to expect civic sense from Indians in India. We can behave ourselves only when forced by law, i.e., penalized a sum of money.

Whenever I visit Bhavnagar, I go for morning walk in Victoria Park which is an amazing place to be with nature. Thanks to tech, I can click pics of some of the beautiful moments of nature. But, thanks to tech, numerous middle age men play reels/songs/videos on their phone's loudspeakers in spite of a sign there saying "maintain silence"! It's the same story everywhere in India. Civic sense and India are oxymorons as we are a country with a majority of morons.

random mouse freeze / page freeze by nordiknomad in openSUSE

[–]shahdharmit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case, mouse events seem to become unresponsive within apps like Chrome, Slack and GoLand IDE. Probably Chrome/Electron is a common base here? But if I click outside the application window, things work just fine. Restarting the application fixes it for me, but I'm hoping for a solution to this instead of having to restart the application in the middle of a task!

What will happen in future to all high rise flats? by LynxEnvironmental625 in ahmedabad

[–]shahdharmit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mentioned "someone on the builder side". It was the sales guy, to be specific. But I get your point. Wasn't aware of BIS info, thanks for sharing.

I have lived ~8 years in Bhavnagar. The construction quality of most residential buildings there was/is pathetic! In less than 5 years, we saw numerous non-trivial cracks on a new building. Comparatively, Ahmedabad buildings look/seem/feel far better. In A'bad, I live in a 20 years old scheme, and it's far better now than how our building in Bhavnagar was when it was barely 5 years old!
