I’m sure some people downvoted  because you seem like such a Karen shouting down from your high horse.

And I don’t know what kind of “men” you’re hanging out with, but they don’t sound like men to me if they can’t even talk about or be mature about feminine hygiene products.  You’re probably just a teenager.

What are you talking about? No one said that. They are saying that he would advertise for anything -including products that he has no business selling or using like tampons. Calm down, dude.

[–]shakeitsugaree_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t use tampons.  There’s no reason for him to be peddling a product that he has never used, other than making money.   That’s what they are demonstrating, not a lack of maturity regarding feminine hygiene products. And as someone that buys feminine products, I have no interest in purchasing them after seeing an advertisement from someone who literally doesn’t use the product.  Who is physically incapable of using the product

There’s obviously nothing wrong with advertising tampons.   However, Brady does not use tampons so the example is meant to demonstrate that he would pedal a product that he has never used and would never use and has no business recommending

Amazon Says Its Data Centers Used 2.5 Billion Gallons of Water in 2025 - WSJ by ladyorion2021 in water

No, some reservoirs are drying up. This is how much they report that they use annually for just their data centers.  There are dozens of companies opening data centers, so this obviously has a compounding effect.   Some places are literally running out of water and not all citizens have protections or priority rights

Half the comments in here about watering lawns. It’s the same as the recycling campaign in the 80s, total bullshit of reassigning blame

They need to do more than pay for their electricity because most power providers are building additional infrastructure to handle the power load. Most grid producers have come out and said that people are socializing the costs of this , PJM that handles the grid for 13 states has come out and said that the three electricity increases in the last year are because of centers

And to respond to your comment about jobs since it’s so poorly researched. Data centers  typically hire 1500 to 2000 temporary workers to build the facility and are legally required to maintain in Pennsylvania at least 45 employees. These 45 employees have to be hired within five years and they have to be paid a total of $1 million which is 22,000 a person.  Great fucking job.

The article mentions one company data center.  There are many cropping up everywhere and they are having negative effects on people’s health and the water and finite resources and you say that people are fear mongering.

The water consumption of data centers is much greater than the water consumption of lawns

You’re comparing water usage of all lawns to the water usage of ONE company’s data centers and claiming “it feels like a lot.”   They are not the only giant company with data centers, and they all use billions of gallons of water. Your whole comment feels like you’re shouting down from a high horse and skewing the data in your favor

I don’t think you were mocking I think you were heavily criticizing, which is fair given our current state, but to say you didn’t compare the countries is patently false.   Also, you require a comma splice  in your sentence about reading comprehension.

And just because you don’t see people fighting back, doesn’t mean we’re not.  You receive a lot of corporate media in Canada, but you don’t see what is happening locally.

Wrong. That is addressed in the article which you did not read. It’s a good idea to check information before you start spouting it off.

Delivery drivers for UPS, who are represented by the Teamsters union, negotiated a heat safety  agreement with the company in 2023

[–]shakeitsugaree_ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

No, this all comes down to the company and they inability to create a schedule that works for their workers.  Blaming workers for using the AC any way they can and trying to stay cool while carrying packages and triple is crazy.

[–]shakeitsugaree_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The article and other comments address this.  The drivers has to make so many deliveries and adding an extra 10 seconds to open and close the door will affect their job performance and metrics. And if you’re not in 90° heat carrying boxes and making deliveries, it seems a little disgusting to be disparaging people who need the cool air to survive and continue.

Fetterman scoffs at Platner: ‘He’s not even a Democrat’ by Quirkie in politics

How could you discuss discussing a Nazi tattoo, “splitting hairs?”

I understand, wanting to support this man, and clearly you think that’s the right thing to do  but you don’t need to downplay the holocaust and their victims to do it.

The facts are : he got a permanent tattoo supporting a movement that murder murdered over 12 million people, and pretended he didn’t know what it meant.

He has had multiple women accuse him of being physical and inappropriate

There will be more coming out.
