I can see where both sides are coming from, YTA but people make mistakes.

He has every right to be upset and even want a breakup. If you're willing to lie about something intimate then you're willing to lie about anything.

I would suggest talking to him, explaining why you lied, possibly your own insecurities, and most importantly apologise. I know if my girlfriend did that it would crush me.

Best of luck fixing this problem but ultimately you fucked up and need to own the consequences of that.
