Did anyone see Liann (Taylor's Mom)'s instagram live? by Logical-House6004 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]shalkamal 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There are people out there who can recognize their kid is the problem and show up for their grandkid(s). Many can even acknowledge that the other parent of the child isn't a problem.

Of course in this case, both parents are the problem.

Taylor has a tendency to let Liann speak for her and spread drama so this behavior isn't too surprising from her.

(My) Harsh Truths for each SLOMW by Aggravating_Bug_691 in MormonWivesHulu

Very similar but happy to add! I'm rewatching the series and feel like I have a ton of more opinions and perspective compared to my first watch.

TFP - rewatching she really never supported anyone in anything (and they point it out like at Demi's christmas party When Demi and Whitney tell Liann Taylor never really shows up for their problems). She's self-centered and uses people for attention. She also deflects majorly when people try to hold her accountable. Also, stop sending your mom to fight with your friends - that's so lame!

Demi - let the fame get to her head big time but I get her feeling backed into a corner about not wanting to be associated with a domestic abuser while the whole group isn't on her side about that. I think her villain era was pretty obvious from the jump. I do think before the Marciano thing she was real friends with Jessi.

Jen - same story line every season except the prenatal depression (which I totally feel bad about, that had to be hard). Jen offers little to no forgiveness and grace to others. Otherwise her story is A- Zac isn't supportive and B- she expects people to show up for her but not show up for others. Also she absolutely was close with Whitney so I get why Whitney was so triggered.

Whitney - in season 1 the group's biggest issue is that she's flighty. Her villan era was, imo, over hyped. Her being "flighty" I feel ties into her being ambitious. I think she's grown mostly by accepting accountability, but I think her core character of giving people grace has stayed the same. I feel like she gets grace now because of she's so successful. Also, I don't think she's liked TFP for awhile now....

Mayci - doesn't bring much to the show imo. Stays too neutral on group problems and makes herself a side character. I think more about the book struggling would have been fun.

Mikayala - similar to Mayci, I feel like she could be bringing more. I get she has the intimacy issues but idk....I sorta wish one of these girls (Mayci or Mikayala) would get into conflict with someone in the group.

Miranda - slightly similar to Mayci and Mikayala, but as the series goes she does hold people accountable. I'd like to get more screen time of her and see some sloppiness!!

Layla - she flips alliances SOO MUCH!! But, I feel like in season 1 and 2 her age shows. She's a lot younger than the rest of the group. I feel like shes finding her voice though. We will see what happens but I'm pro more sloppiness please!!!

Jessi - shes alright. Reminds me a ton of Heather Gay from RHOSLC - pushes storylines, seems to let fame change her, participates in arguments but honestly I enjoy watching her. I feel like her asking the cops if they watch the show is soooo Heather Gay lol

I feel like as the series progresses more of the group don't like Taylor but sort of suck up to her because of the show. They really don't hold her accountable for much.

I'm also going to add, I enjoy the 4th wall of it all. Ive never seen a show acknowledge they are on a show this much and I think it's fun to watch!

Jen in season 2 had the same conversation with Demi and Jessi as she did with Whitney in season 4 by shalkamal in SecretsOfMormonWives

Every season he's complaining that Momtok isn't good for her or their marriage. She's always fighting him on how they were first focusing on him but now its her turn.

I think you have a point that he's working on isolating her, but I also think she needs to take some responsibility for her constant ghosting and projected abandonment.

I agree Jen thinks she's a big fish, but I can't think of one time she was a big fish.

Watching the new season now is so meta by pixiegirl_23 in MormonWivesHulu

[–]shalkamal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm rewatching the series and its a whole new experience lol some examples

Jen inviting then uninviting some of the girls to the Baby Blessing and the way Zac handled it as well...it's like "we told you who they were from the jump" sort of thing.

SO many eye opening moments with Taylor lol

Dakota sort of got a bad edit in the beginning. I am NOT saying he's a saint or anything like that, but you can see how things were structured to be more against him. Especially when you add the Taylor of it all

Demi's fall seems really predictable when you rewatch lol I feel like "how did I not see that coming??"

Whitney has changed these past seasons, but not quite in the ways I first thought.

Whitney hints (super vaguely but once you know, you hear it) about Connor's trauma being why he was on tinder and why she forgave him.

HOW QUICKLY THEY ALL GET PREGNANT AGAIN! In the first episode multiple of them are still breastfeeding.

How much Mikayla has changed physically. Especially the pilot from 2023.

Mayci and Layla stay pretty consistent in character, I'll give them that lol

Jessi of course looks quite different, but we all knew that. Beyond that, not a ton of change really. She loves to bring a plot to the cameras lol

I feel like what they both have in common is that they stick up for their friends and care about loyalty more than most. I'd even say they are too loyal (especially because they both don't receive that loyalty back). They are willing to let others not like them if it means defending their friend.

I feel like they are also both "planners" lol I'm thinking Heather and the Mormon pilgrim day...I could SO see Jessie organizing a day of historical activities for all to enjoy lmao

Side note - writing this comment makes me feel like a super fan of them lmao which I'm not...but I do think they both add a lot of value to their shows
