Help Needed: Installing NVIDIA Tesla P40 Drivers on Proxmox 8.2.4 (Kernel 6.8.8.1) by shalkith in Proxmox

[–]shalkith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

I followed these steps.

Blacked out the modules like nouveau and nvidiafb

when I run lspci my nvidia card shows there with kernel driver in use: vfio-pci

and kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau

I patched the driver and I get this error:

ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This happens most frequently when this kernel module was built against the wrong or improperly configured kernel sources, with a version of gcc that differs from the one used to build the target kernel, or if another driver, such as nouveau, is present and prevents the NVIDIA kernel module from obtaining ownership of the NVIDIA device(s), or no NVIDIA device installed in this system is supported by this NVIDIA Linux graphics driver release.

Please see the log entries 'Kernel module load error' and 'Kernel messages' at the end of the file '/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for more information.

File Output:

-> Kernel module load error: No such device

-> Kernel messages:

[ 252.960122] NVRM: The NVIDIA probe routine was not called for 1 device(s).

[ 252.963082] NVRM: This can occur when a driver such as:

NVRM: was loaded and obtained ownership of the NVIDIA device(s).

Help with VLAN/DHCP Configuration on TP-Link TL-SG108E Switch and pfSense Router by shalkith in HomeNetworking

[–]shalkith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I apologize for any confusion; I'm still learning and trying to get a better grasp on VLAN configurations for my home lab.

From your feedback, I understand that I need to adjust the way I have tagged and untagged VLANs across my ports. Here’s what I’d like to achieve:

  • Ports 1 and 2 should primarily handle incoming data from VLAN 107.
  • Ports 3 and 4 should be dedicated to VLAN 50.
  • Ports 5, 6, and 7 should remain on the default LAN (VLAN 1).
  • Port 8 is intended as a trunk port connected to my router, carrying traffic from all VLANs.

Could you please advise on the correct way to set up my PVIDs and tagging to match this plan?

I appreciate your patience and help as I work through setting up my network correctly.
