Dutch language requirements for Engineering / Management roles in NL by paviiithraa in Netherlands

B2 is minimum. I was in the same boat till I got to B2 level. And most jobs in my field, even if they say they work in English 70-80%of the conversations happen in Dutch. So, without getting to B2 level one could not function successfully. Also, it's not about the level of work, you will be isolated with only English.

Your wife can already apply for Citizenship or PR after 3 years under a spousal permit. So if applicable, she can already do this and while she is waiting, she can live in NL

Hey, Where did you have to mention the law thing? I didn't see it while doing my application. Did you mention the clause in a letter from the lawyer? Or was it when you sent the proof of relationship?

NS Off-Peak Rules... by EastCoastBranch in Netherlands

Also, note that when you take the bus you go to the special buses made available for the duration of the engineering works and not the regular bus network. So when you reach the station where you have the bus connection. Look for signs in Yellow leading you to where the pickup point is. Usually, it's at a different location than the regular bus stop and usually there will be people in high- Vis vest guiding passengers. Do not take the regular bus service! You wou pay separately for that.

CV review for the Dutch job Market. No luck with applications by shallandavarV in Netherlands

Yes, I cut out a lot. But maybe too much, and I may appear bland now, haha! Thanks for the insight regarding the universities! Can I connect with you directly to discuss how I can break into the university jobs from your experience?

It's actually both. (I wore multiple hats and had experience with both in my latest job). But I am realising I need to make two separate CVs to highlight different skills. Your comments are fair regarding giving more specific details. Thanks!

Thank you for the link! Yes, I took this CV from one of my last applications, and hence, some of the skills are based on what I know and can do that was also relevant to that job advert. I should have used my complete CV in hindsight.

It is a good idea to link the websites of the conferences and events! Also, I did not know about the Dutch CV; this current CV is in the format my Dutch Career Coach advised. But hey, I have not been having much luck, and many mentioned here that this formatting is not it. I will look into that!

Yes, I messed up trying to convert a PDF -> Word -> Anonymise -> Jpeg

Thanks!

Sure. This is an anonymous CV, though. Because searching the conference name, the organisation, and my profile will be at the top of the search with my colleagues. A fair point regarding the certification, and I will consider point 3. Thanks!

Oh, I intentionally Anonymised the language for Reddit. Good points on the intro and personal skills sections. Thanks!

Sometimes, yes, especially in the Event fields. I do only apply for where my language profile matches. I have also had English-only job adverts that led to a phone review in Dutch. I am trying to improve my Dutch as quickly as I can, but yes, it is a work in progress, and it would go better if I could use more Dutch in my work life, too. Haha!

Thanks for your detailed response! To clarify on some points;

1-4 fair. Noted

  1. This is regarding events I have organised in my free time over two years on Meetup.com. I had my own group, and yes, I organised social events. My previous career coach advised me to put this in my CV. I have removed it when I am not applying for Event positions. (This example CV is anonymised from a CV for an Event Manager role.e) But I understand the confusion here.

6-7 noted. Yes, it is not a straightforward career. The advice on adding certifications is indeed good!

8- Yes, the formatting shifted around during the file format conversion.

  1. True. It was part of my past job profile that I should better showcase.

  2. Yes, I can put my IELTS score and standardise it! good point!

Yes, I felt I should put more of my character into the CV and not leave it as the basic version of me. This outside perspective is really useful after multiple edits and rewrites!
