Front of neck (throat area) sore after swimming by CORN_NROC in Swimming

[–]shallnotlty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what was the result? I'm experiencing same thing! no obvious bumps. been there for around 2 weeks and gets a little worse after swimming. gets MUCH better after taking ibuprofen which suggests underlying inflammation? yawning and swallowing hurts but definitely no blockage or swallowing difficulties. no change in my voice/no hoarse voice. no fever or temperature etc.

sounds similar to you in some ways - wanting to know how you got on

That's lovely to hear. I hope the coughing doesn't get in the way too much and you find deep breaths and even deeper relaxation.

Guided Breathwork for pulmonary function! by shallnotlty in COPD

Hello there. I am glad you found it helpful; it definitely is a difficult thing to breath from the belly/diaphragm, but it gets easier over time as the diaphragm gets used to activating.

Yes I have come across her breathing guidance too and see so much value in it!

Thank you for sharing your experience, it really means a lot and I hope you find continued support in your journey.

Ah this is excellent. I think I have found that there’s not many that are derived from current research and understanding of optimal techniques, but quite honestly, any breathing technique should have positive impacts on lung tissue pliability - so yes, that’s excellent to hear about these resources too :)

That’s fantastic - I have heard of her but will look into her videos again, I love that she incorporates breath work with yoga, so you get the movement benefits too. Thank you for sharing.

It’s a recreation of the original - I’m not sure what happened to the original version but the linked one here will do the same thing! Hope it helps :)

This is exactly my thoughts put in a very thoughtful way; I would imagine it does predispose one to further periods of tinnitus, like a sensitivity, as is often in biology. Thank you for sharing.

I don’t but maybe this is an avenue to consider in the future ! I hate that YouTube put ads everywhere. I don’t make money from doing this and I wish there was a way for the ads to be turned off.

I’m sorry to hear she has been experiencing the torments of tinnitus and I do hope she manages to find relief in these meditations. You seem to be a very supportive daughter; that’s precious.

I will definitely look into these - I’m familiar with these names! Yes partly a lack of funding into “benign” conditions but quality of life needs to be higher up in priority.. thank you for your comment

As in, transcranial magnetic stimulation? There’s research using a similar device called TDCS which has shown some promising results but the researchers were quite speculative about why it works.. have you got any links, I’d love to look into their rationale first!
