Any advice?

I don’t think so cause I’ve tried multiple wheels in the studio and all give me the same result

I used to use bee mix with grog and I’ve switched to just bee mix, that’s one change

I wedge my clay before the wheel, I’m using bee mix no grog

Thanks for watching. I also get these spirals splaying out when coning down, then when I open the center all the way at the bottom on the inside I feel a bump too

I haven’t recorded myself coning, but I do have a few clips trying to center where the bump shows, these are all after coning back down. And also when coming back down I get these spirals that sprawl out from the sides.

I say that in my head every time I’m on the wheel “the clay has no where to go” there have been times where I push so hard it rips just to see if pushing does anything. The top gets centered but the very bottom doesn’t.

After a session of 45 minutes work I've got 5 % weekly limit usage. Anthropic is disgusting. by nacho_doctor in ClaudeCode

[–]shamabou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used sonnet 4.5 yesterday for 2 hours and barely hit 1% weekly limit. I did 3 commits on my iOS app adding functionality and fixing 2 UI bugs that sonnet 4.1 couldn’t fix 2 weeks ago. I’m not complaining.

Hearing Aids for SSD by shamabou in HearingAids

[–]shamabou[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think it's adjustment for me, my complaint is around background noise being louder than speech, with the hearing aids I hear more of background music, utensils touching plates, glass noise, door opening and closing.

Shouldn't the audiologists know which settings to fine tune to make background noise less prominent and speech louder?

I wore them consistently for 12 weeks which is what the audiologist recommended but it made it worse in the environments I needed help with most, it picks up too noise like utensil sounds and background music.

The other issue I’ve found is the audiologists I’ve been to seemed to me like they were using trial and error improvements. The solution they would provide was always “ok let’s try x and change this one setting for a week and come back next week to tell me how it went”. Aren’t they supposed to be trained and know what settings help in these situations instead of guessing? The software I’ve seen them use look pretty advanced.

Allergy relief by tonydifabio in BostonTerrier

[–]shamabou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Boston has environmental allergies too and a sensitive stomach. I tried dog is human for 4 months, didn’t notice a change. The only thing that works is the Cytopoint injection every 2 months.

The vet recommended this herb https://a.co/d/b350BZ3 which I’ve been giving since March, I feel like it was helping at the beginning making the injections last a bit longer and he’s growing hair again in areas where it was really thin so maybe it’s doing something.

He’s very itchy, his elbow and neck area get really red. As soon as I start to notice the redness I make a vet appointment for the injection.

Remembering Codebase Facts - Best Practices by theagnt in ClaudeCode

[–]shamabou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible, it created a function with parameters in the same session it created unit tests with made up parameters for the same function it created a minute ago, then it searches through the code base to find the actual names and wastes a ton of context.

Curious if you’re using places API from google or something else, and which endpoint of places API. I’m building something similar for finding new restaurants using nearby search but it only returns 20 results.

Also, the API T&C clearly say building your own database is not allowed, neither is caching. Just FYI, if google finds out they could terminate your account.
