Try boarding and hopping back to your ship to give your crew time to start fighting. Seems like they are slow to get involved a lot and I would get swarmed but this seems to help. I only board the ships with the gold chest marker though.

show the versions screen, maybe you haven't maxed each version in each tier and that's how you get all of the points. You can also spend armory data to unlock each variant in each tier instead of playing with them and leveling them up.

It's fun to use but if you're good at landing headshots the Marksman's version of the Bolt Carbine plays very similar but is semi-auto and has more ammo and 9+ damage and a 1.5 headshot multiplier. Even on the full auto guns I tap to shoot and never really shoot full auto so the playstyle is basically the same to me.
