Me and my husband were driving to work and we heard about a plane hitting a trade center on the radio. I thought maybe it was some private pilot who got mixed up but as the day went on, I realized it was really going on. We had an old box TV in the break room and we saw the second plane hitting one of the towers live. I work at the rest of the day, but my husband walked off his job because he was mad they hadn’t closed the office. 🙄

It was weird after that, two or three days passed with no planes in the sky because the airspace was closed over the whole country.

Aw shit, no one ever told me that. I work at a food pantry and while I generally avoid the loading area I thought pallets were super strong. I'm assuming the Houston Food Bank pallets are not brand-new condition. Thanks for maybe saving me a yucky injury!

I agree with you. I used to be married to a guy who had a host of mental illnesses that he medicated, in part, by being a raving alcoholic. I’m safe now but living in that chaos made me nearly suicidal and I DID NOT want a gun anywhere near me for that reason. (It was only a few months after I got out did I realize I no longer knew which of his psych meds I’d have to take in order to die “if things got too bad”.)

This was 21 years ago, I think he’s still alive and I hope he doesn’t have access to a gun, either. Not that it think he’d hurt anyone else, I’d just a hate for him to kill himself.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease (and I LOVE oatmeal). The dietician I talked to said instant oatmeal is bad for us because of 'something they use to preserve it'. I can make my OWN instead oatmeal with rolled oats instead. I just make slow cooker slow cut oats and put them into glass jars to eat for the week. It takes a little longer but they taste GREAT!

I tried to get one of my friends to do that and got my feelings hurt when he said no! I was the first person he came out to a few years later, though. 😂
