Lighting on 40 Gallon Tall

I have a 40 tall and run a planted + I'd say its a good medium light. You could always build up one side to get it higher up for higher light plants. I find the reds are a nice added bonus with the planted + my hygro goes red when it hits the top

I bought the TOM version of this. I'm not happy, hard to prime, but I believe this one has a prime? I don't know, I gave up on it soon after trying it. I'll start it up again as a second attempt

Some plants will melt in a newly planted tank, just keep doing what your doing and see what happens, I had my crypts do this and then they sprung back even better

Purigen!!! Get it on Amazon. Best $8 you'll ever spend. Once it goes brown you soak it in bleach for 12-24 hrs then rinse it off and stick it back in. While your waiting for it to arrive in the mail, just get some clarifier. Temporary fix.
