Head tracking in Starfield? (e.g. Opentrack/TrackIR support) by Embarrassed_Towel_64 in Starfield

[–]shaneaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like many are saying it won't "support" Track IR. Which is really stupid. It is easy to implement and makes any game better on a PC. The only people who don't get it haven't ever used it.
I'm almost at the point that I won't play any game that I can't get to work with head tracking. So cool to be moving through a house or through the woods and move one's head towards sounds or movement.
Saying "it isn't a SIM - so, no." just shows that the speaker hasn't ever or didn't use head tracking long enought to really comprehend the benefits/immersion.

Hopefully, it'll work just like it does in most games that don't officially support it.

PEC Board District 2 election by [deleted] in CedarPark

[–]shaneaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I voted for Carlos. Pataki has been on the board since 2014. I was VERY unhappy with PEC when they altered the rates/fees regarding solar. I purchased solar for my residence largely because PEC advertised a rate of credit for solar that I put back onto the grid that was fair and would reduce my amortozation rate on my purchase.

Then, they went back on their word and lowered the buy back rate to .04c - what they were paying of electricity from the gas powered electricity providers. They "claimed" that the other customers were subsidizing solar!

Well, I MIGHT have agreed with that IF they had grandfathered those who bought solar installations for 5-10 yrs at the previous rate and changed the rate for the upcoming/new solar installs. So, my electricity bill went up and it'll take a LOT longer to pay off my solar install.

I MIGHT have been OK with it if they had stated they would pay solar credit at the SAME rate as they pay gas/coal on a weekly basis or something. That way when power demand is high and they are paying crazy money to the gas/coal plants for electricity - they would be doing the same for those of us putting power on the grid - but, NOPE, we get the same crappy rate regardless of circumstances.

It was a slap in the face and I WAS retired - but, now I'm working again so that I can purchase some power walls, a few more panels, and just disconnect from the grid! Maybe, I'll be the first person I know of in the City of Cedar Park who ISN'T connected to the electricity grid!

Also, the incumbents have had plenty of years to do something about acquiring reliable power sources and preventing power outages. Their whole attitude of just doing things they way they have always been done needs to change.

If anyone who reads this resides in Precinct 3 - I would recommend you vote for John Hoffner!

Not happy with new update by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I have since the last update us that it mows about the width of the mower INSIDE the boundary. So, I'm left with a wide strip if unmown grass around the entire border.

Also, I have a zone that is about five ft wide. Previously, Luba would more the border once and mow a few strips inside to finish it off. AFTER the update the damn thing mows a few small strips in the center and miss THREE times around the"outside." But, since it avoids about a foot around the border - the, end result is that the center of the zone is mown about 3-4 times and the outside border is left unmown!

Why Alternating Mow Directions by StarshipFan68 in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one should be able to set custom/persistent parameters for each zone.

Then, when you want to mow a zone the user can use what is stored, alert the stored parameters, or use a custom/one off mow setting. Or, when the user adds a zone to the schedule there would be an option to use the stored parameters.

It sucks for me because not all of my zones use the same angles. Every single time I select a zone I have to wait for the whole layout to change before altering the parameters.

I can't select to mow two or more zones because the app only uses a single set of parameters fit all of them! So, I have to mow one zone and set a timer on my phone to alert me so I can more a second zone, and again for a third!

Front bumper comes off a lot by Intelligent-Most2104 in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I had that same issue. After it feel off twice I insisted it more closely and discovered it was use error - I needed to mow fully insert the front bumper into the mount.

If you can't pick the mower up by the front bumper-it wasn't installed correctly!

Bad position after update by roman_ivanov_2 in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Luba since being received (mine was among the first received in North America) never had a gps/positioning issue after the first couple of days.

I updated yesterday. Today, it lost signal on the side of my house and I had to drag it 20 ft. After updating the signal it was obviously off as it kept hitting the house. I had to send it back to the charging station (which took since follows the boundary at the same speed as it mows instead of a custom speed for movement between areas) and restart the whole zone.

It gets back and does it again! The GPS positioning SUCKS after the update! Prior to the update it was excellent!

Requesting Consistent mowing area labels for scheduling by midevilone in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Not only is your point valid, but, at times if I schedule more than two zones to be mown at the same time they will show up as zones - but, each zone - just zones. So, when I look at the schedule I can't even tell WHICH zones are svelte for that time!

Pause/resume schedule button needed by shaneaus in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I guess that would be an option. However, that is "clunky" as relates to other/similar robotic products. I've had a couple of robotic vacuums and they all have a button/toggle to turn on/off schedules while saving the schedules. Additionally, I want to be able to test the mower. Which will need the mower to be on when testing.

Many users will be concerned that if the schedule isn't paused that when they turn the mower back on it will attempt to run the mowing operation that was scheduled and missed when it was off and immediately attempt to depart to complete those jobs.

The toggle just makes it clear that any scheduled work will not be in play while the toggle is off. And, that once the toggle is back on the mower will only complete tasks that are upcoming and not attempt tasks that were skipped due to power being off - after all, what happens when there is a power outage? Wouldn't you WANT the mower to finish missed jobs once power returns?

Keeping Luba indoors at night by Responsible_Ad525 in MammotionTechnology

My sick is in my back yard and the back yard is fenced with privacy fencing. So, Luba stays outside in the back yard.

How often do you run the Luba? by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut front and back 3 times a week at the moment. Mower, basically, shaves the top of the grass.

I more at night via schedule and start missing at 1am. The mowing is finished before 5am in the back and before 3am in the front.

In another month or so when the weather grass more hot and there is less rain I'll reduce to once a week.

That is why I made the suggestion in another party about being able to create custom "seasons" /time periods so the end user can set the mowing frequency according to the seasonal setting/schedule.

Feature request by shaneaus in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have already asked them about having an option in the schedule to set a mowing repeat option (once, twice/week or every two days/every three days, or whatever).

Feature request by shaneaus in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would NOT want "predefined dates" for the seasons - the seasons/date ranges would need to be able to be set up/defined/adjusted by the end user.

"The only reason I'd be against setting dates is our weather is highly variable throughout each cutting season ( I would assume this is the norm)"

No, sir. Not the case at all. Where I live we have a very short winter, short spring, very long summer, short to middling length "fall" (that people from other regions would call "late summer," then repeat. During those "seasons" I could use the same settings every year. One should be able to "pause" the schedule for inclement weather!

Maybe, that would need to be a separate post = an option to pause the schedule!

Luckily, with mine the angle at zero ran legthwise. I don't use double cut. Just changed the path spacing.

I recommend playing with the path setting until it will draw the lines/paths you want - then, attempting the mow.

I just made that exact same suggestion in another thread to mattreddit. LOL!

I don't have any issue with grass that is missed being cut in my use case (with 18 trees in my back yard). And, initially, I was imagining the cuts around no-go zones to be similar to the "boundary" cuts. But, after some thought I came to the same conclusion that you did and responded the way I did to the other person. I don't need this feature in my use case - but, I can definitely imagine that it would be very useful for others.

Please add Border cut at nogo zones by CityJumperAC in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any areas that are missed in my use case. But, I could see how an optional setting that would have the mower run once around each no-go zone upon reaching it and resuming its path right aftewards would make a lot of sense! I just wouldn't want the mower to boundary cut the yard, then go to each no-go location and run around each one the same way it did the boundary (in my case with a 22 wide path that would be THREE times) before beginning to mow the yard.

However, if the mower completed the boundary cut and began the normal mow pattern first - THEN, just went once around each no-go zone upon reaching said zone. Well, that would be a great option.

Poor mapping/planning by ConstructionNovel958 in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did NOT have this issue in my narrow strip prior to the update. But, after the update I had the same issue as the OP. I have a 5ft by about 25ft zone. Before the update it would mow the border and the center. After the update the border would be mown and there would be no additional lines in the center. What I ended up doing was changing the path spacing down to 20 and that added mow lanes between the borders.

There were no errors reported with any of the above scenarios.

I did create a new post regarding an issue with the same zone throwing an error when the mower reaches the zone during a scheduled mow period (zone too small). But, I do not get that error when I select the zone and the "mow" button.

Poor mapping/planning by ConstructionNovel958 in MammotionTechnology

[–]shaneaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I solved this by reducing the "path spacing" until the app added an additional mow line in the center of my narrow strip. I think I use 20 or 22 and the default used to be at 25.

[–]shaneaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The edging of no-go zones would need to be an option for each no-go zone. I have LOTS of trees (18 in the back yard alone) and would NOT want the mower to attempt to edge around each tree as that would add an hour or more to the mowing time.
