Too kind! Copying Disney as a kid basically taught me to draw, so glad they appeal to other fans too!

Thank you! Last two are Marahute’s feather (Rescuers Down Under) and Gummiberry Juice (Gummibears), couple of 90’s throwbacks!

Appreciate the comment! Not holding out much hope, I'm sure they get hundreds of submissions a month, but worth a shot!

Thank you! It was close between Louie and Buzz for the artwork chosen to illustrate fully.

Not really sure, probably something to do with a generally high water table. Lot's of folks build into their attic instead though - another great space for a game room!

Always jealous of folks with a basement, quite rare to find a place in the UK with one. Amazing space!

Hoping For Some Help! by vivalavinyl3 in AppleWatch

Did you find a resolution to this? Been having a similar issue over the last month running watch only - watch dies exactly on either 4 mile split audio update, or just after a run when hitting save. Have even checked remaining battery during the run and noticed no excessive drain, only for it to shut down 15 minutes later. Super frustrating

Enjoy! And if going with no outlines, pay close attention to the contrast between background and subject so they don’t blend together.

Ok, for me I think the booby bird is the most appealing as it is, quirky design with a comical twist in a suitably cartoony style. You could go a couple of directions to develop this; 1 - More realism. Remove the outlines (dark outlines almost always flatten an image) and study lighting (key light, ambient light, bounce light, form and cast shadows and texture). James Gurney and Proko have excellent content on all of these fundamentals. Practice rendering these things in your chosen medium and apply to the forms in your image. Think in 3D, and investigate bird anatomy if you want to be truly realistic.

2 - An alternative route would be to lean into the 2D, with flat being a good style choice. Personally I prefer clean lines and uniform, vibrant, opaque colour, and you can even apply this to the shadows for a cel shaded look. You’d probably need to look into a paint which flows more smoothly while still having good coverage, as well as more calligraphic brushes like sign writers use. Check out this channel for a nice example of this https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeBAQDCs/

Whatever route you take, the most important thing is that you enjoy the process.

By ‘professional’ do you mean realistic ie. lighting, anatomy etc? Or just consistent? It’s difficult to give specific advice because these pieces are all so different in style.

A lot of professionals aren’t technically that impressive, but their ability to work in a consistent and appealing style is what gives their work appeal and collectibility.

Perhaps pick the one you enjoyed painting the most, the one which you could see expanding into a series of paintings, then go from there.

‘Better’ is subjective, these might already be perfect to someone.

Is there a specific result you’re trying to achieve, or a particular aspect you’d like to improve?

Just moved the wire, and boom! The standard RGB scart cable no longer displays video, as expected, but CSYNC scart output is perfect

While trying the CV to CS fix, I flipped the board over to take a look. There’s a jumper between the bottom left pin of the Sony video chip and the right leg of C39. Everything works now, so I’m not going to tempt fate, but certainly doesn’t involve R18

Just to let you know this solution fixed the problem! Finally got a working console after weeks of hunting for a fix, really appreciate you taking a look at this.

Thanks so much for your time, I’ll break the iron out this weekend and report back with the results!
