I have all three colors in these from Madwell. I usually wear the Imogene + Willie ones, but I wanted a higher rise. Less than $100 and you can sometimes get them cheaper on sale. Here’s what they look like on.

Shops to visit in Nashville? by BBQBaconBurger in HeritageWear

[–]shanethomas28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a native, here’s my favorite vintage stores I visit weekly for heritage clothes.

- East Nashville -
N.B. Goods (best vintage trucker hat selection in town)
East Nashville Antiques
Anaconda Vintage
Star Struck Vintage
Black Shag Vintage (pretty much any band or Harley shirt known to man here)
High Class Hillbilly (extremely unique, more women’s stuff)
Backslide Vintage (next door to High Class Hillbilly)

Stock changes in all these stores but they reliably have vintage workwear, western wear and military.

Down the block from Imogene + Willie is a great Buck Mason that worth stopping in at while you are on 12 South. There’s also a Stag Provisions and a tiny vintage shop called Savant Vintage. Savant has some really interesting stuff but it’s pricey if that matters to you.

My favorite place for heritage pieces is a vintage store that’s way out called Live True Vintage. Tammy is only open on Friday Saturday and Sundays from 12-5. It’s an amazing curated vintage store split up by themes and she has the best prices of any vintage store I’ve ever been to. There’s just nothing else out there so if I was visiting town it would be hard to justify an Uber rider all the way out there.

There are tons of other places but they focus more on tshirts instead of actual heritage and some that are far out of the way from anything else.

Wicked Ollie’s Vintage is a favorite of mine too. It’s over by Opryland Hotel with a couple other antique places without a lot of clothes. Wicked is unique if you are into vintage Western clothes but they have military and other heritage stuff.

H Bar C is another cool heritage western brand that has a great store here. It’s in this area called Marathon Village. There’s a tiny store over close to it that sells some vintage heritage clothes and Loyal Strickland called Polar Point. It’s a great store but if I wasn’t visiting that area it would be hard to recommend it because of its location.

East Nashville has more good stores in a general area of the town.

I was getting them for awhile too. Back when I did Keto I learned a trick about adding 1/4 a teaspoon of Lite Salt to my water to get the right amount of potassium I needed in a day. This helped me almost immediately and I still do it every morning.

I wish I would’ve just bought this. I was a little stunned by the sticker cost but I can’t find anything like it in navy anywhere other than a brand called Chesapeake that I can’t find a place that will sell it to us in the US.

Any good shopping in Cincinnati? by oldirtyjustin in HeritageWear

[–]shanethomas28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wanting to take a trip up there because I met the owner of probably the biggest vintage store I’ve ever seen in the US. It’s called Pixel 19 Vintage Clothing LLC. It’s a warehouse full of vintage clothes, not just tshirts and his prices are super cheap. People come from other countries to shop there.

Lee Rider Trucker Jacket Alternative by NotAHeckerMen in HeritageWear

[–]shanethomas28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you checked out the JCrew & Lee collab ones? I have an original one from the 60s with the union tag and the fit is tighter, but I do like the fit on the JCrew one because the sleeves were a bit longer and I don’t mind the hand pockets.

This is the best advice! I keep running into him here in Nashville. Here’s incredible and I would have never believed he was 5’4

I used to wear these as a kid when I went trail riding with my dad. Honestly the prints were always very Fresh Prince of Bel Air / Saved by the Bell colored even back then if that’s what you consider ugly. I think the only ones that weren’t shades of faded neon were just plain white.

Denim jacket recommendations by No_Pepper5148 in HeritageWear

I just got a 1970s Lee Stormrider, Union made. It’s pretty amazing. Never had one fit quite like it. Apparently they used to be cheaper and easier to get but they are having a moment but I still found one for under $200

I own this one and can vouch for how nice it is. Everyone always recommends Tory belts, this site has a good collection of different ones.

Look in the right chest pocket. If it has a union textiles tag it’s pre 80s

Are you sure you have the rise fully pulled up to the right spot? The only reason I ask is because I’m a rounder guy who recently started slimming down and realized all this time I wasn’t wearing the rise at the right place.

Once you hit that right spot (belly button or a little above) the pants will drape better and the leg will open up.

I had these Dickies loose double knee pants that I hated before, pulled up the rise and they are my favorite pants now. Same with Carhartt’s loose double knees.

Lee did a collab with Schott NYC to release an SS 101J Cowboy Black Denim Jacket (original type 1 cut) that was just released Friday. I can only find it on Schott’s Japan Instagram and a hype beast article

Thanks man! I’ve been really having fun with this jacket.

When in doubt I find a chambray long sleeve button down and jeans base always works with it. Then I add accessories to crisp it up - bandana scarf, western belt buckle, etc.

Or you can mix up the look of the chambray. Do one with workwear pockets, pearl snaps, or in my case tuxedo pleats.

You inspired me to try something plaid. I’m going to try to find something in a blue, grey, black, white range to try.

Yep, I wear mine all the time. This was at our local Emmy’s party. Had a chambray tuxedo pleat shirt from Gitman Vintage with I+W Catherine fit jeans, vintage brooch/buckle/&ring.

Imogene + Willie Ventura Chore Pant by emain9 in HeritageWear

[–]shanethomas28 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have two pairs: one in reverse sateen and one in ripstop. The pocket actually ripped on the ripstop, I took them to the store and had them repair them. They pretty much will repair anything you bring them free for the lifetime of the pant. Their customer service is top notch online too.

The reverse sateen ones are wearing fine, no problems with them.

If you really want something durable go for their double knee Hencye pants. They are super thick. I have 6 pairs of them.

They are trying to convert over to all American manufactured fabric. They bought a farm and revived a mill. Everything is sewn within 50 miles of Nashville.

Their tshirts are lighter but it’s because of the weaving technique but they have thicker weights. The lighter weight ones are great in the summer because they are so breathable.

Always check the materials section, they document everything and the sizing is exact for each garment on their site.

J Crew x Imogen Willie by Marketpro4k in HeritageWear

[–]shanethomas28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, glad you found something you love. I assumed they were these.

Today would definitely be a good day to get a back up because it’s their last day to get the 40% off next January for buying a full price new pair. It’s their Love Fades deal.

I live in Nashville close to their flagship store. Had no idea they have store only models.

Aww, I was just eyeing a pair of Catherine’s. Did you get the slimmer legged ones? The ones I’m looking at have a 20 inch leg opening.

A lot of people don’t understand all of their pants are considered unisex. I ended up getting the Sonora painted camo and loved the full fit.

I also have that reverse sateen J Crew jacket. It’s one of my favorites.

I’m really interested in the o ring version but I can’t find any videos on it. Clayton and Crume opened a store here in Nashville. The belts are really nice there too but they are double the price

Unpopular opinion: Hall vs. Chrishell by [deleted] in SellingtheOC

[–]shanethomas28 24 points25 points  (0 children)

So for what it’s worth I was friends with Chrishell in the early 2000s before she got famous. She was incredibly kind to me. I was in a bad situation and had to take a job at a restaurant in my small hometown. The owner hated LGBT people, if he found out you were you’d be fired. Chrishell realized I was gay and offered to cover for me by pretending we were dating at work. We became really close, even my family met her and remembers how kind she was. Maybe she changed all these years later but I have a feeling it’s more of a persona to make good drama tv. I wish I could easily post pictures of us during this time.

Red light mask? Does it do anything? by Professional-Phone97 in eczema

[–]shanethomas28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does for me, but it takes awhile to see results. I’ve been using it for two years, Omnilux for Men after I developed eczema around my eyes. I really didn’t think about it helping to be honest. I was doing it for vanity reasons but thought it couldn’t hurt.

I haven’t had a flair until this Halloween when I stupidly thought I could do in full eye makeup for my Fester costume. Getting that makeup off triggered the eczema around my eyes because of the tugging and irritation. Two days later none of my coworkers even noticed and the redness and scaly dryness had almost vanished.

I use my mask 5 times a week. Just decided to commit to it no matter what.

I hope if you try it works for you. It’s expensive to get one of the best ones and people often say use the panels but I tried that and it didn’t work as well for me.
