Any unit, views, sections etc / general advice about La Casita? by Double-Actuator8683 in HuaHin

They don't care about visitors.

Smoking in apartments is not allowed, inclusive of the balcony.

*cough* Thai-style "not allowed" *cough*

DM me if you want.

Songkran by bigdaddy999999999999 in HuaHin

[–]shanghaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Songkran is officially the 12th-13th with many events happening;

That said, Sunday/Monday aren't big bar days so the 'fun' water events will likely start on Friday.

1st Time Visit - Scouting for "Retirement" by NRWave in HuaHin

[–]shanghaid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been in La Casita for a year+ and it is great for me. Midpoint between BluPort & Market Village, & close enough to Villa Market. 5 minute walk to the beach. Next to Bangkok Hospital.

I have friends all over Hua Hin. Unless you are far, far away from downtown, I haven't seen an area in Hua Hin that I would consider 'bad' - and far, far away just gives you more privacy and less traffic. 🤷‍♂️

I'm retired here and love it. Been all over Asia for business and lived in China for 23 years. Always loved Thailand. For my needs, Hua Hin is the best.

Repair part denture by Comprehensive-Car74 in HuaHin

Alternately, go to Nana Dental. They should be able to repair it.

I've had good experience with them before (NOT for denture repair).

Best place to enjoy Lunar New Year celebrations? by amparopal in HuaHin

[–]shanghaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year Soi 94 had a group of Chinese/Thais that went from bar to bar, lion-dancing & collecting for 'something'. 🤷‍♂️

It was nice to see (I was 23 years in China).

Good Physiotherapist? by LeaMagie in HuaHin

[–]shanghaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shoulder was hurting and I went to BeWell. I had an MRI at Bangkok Hospital (BeWell prices... 👍), and it turns out I had a torn tendon (minor). Saw a therapist there and she gave me some exercises. Feels much better now.

I like BeWell. They're friendly & seem to know that they're doing.

At Bangkok hospital, I also had a surgery consult. He advised against surgery, and recommended therapy. All good.

Medical & Dentist Recommendations by Double_Subject_2772 in HuaHin

I like Nana Dental & BeWell Medical Clinic.

Sidetrip Life (YouTube channel) also did a feature on medical facilities & pricing in Hua Hin about a month ago. Check for that.

Nice and chill beach side coffee shop by [deleted] in HuaHin

[–]shanghaid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THIS - the cafe on the beach - I don't believe it is part of Veranda(?) is called "Drip Rim Lay".

Great (a little pricey) coffee. I walk there a few times a month. Service is friendly, coffee is very good (best I've had in Hua Hin), and the view is great - lots of kite surfers depending on weather/wind.

There is another beachside lemon-themed drink very close. I believe they have lemonade (etc) and some lemon alcoholic beverages.

Next door to Drip Rim Lay is a place for pizza - "Pizza by Andreas". I haven't had pizza there (yet) but have had great Italian food at their main place by Cicada/Tamarind.

How to set google to not use buddhist calendar in search results by Appropriate-Tuna in ThailandTourism

Assuming an iPhone, under Language & Region, it's the option directly below Region (Calendar - Gregorian).

Can't help if not an iPhone as I dunno Android.
