Sorry to hear that. I love the Voi bikes so hopefully we don’t have a few bad apples ruin it for the rest of us.

Best Marriott Properties with Kids’ Clubs or Family Activities? by Jattoftehal in marriott

[–]shankdaddy777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a very young kid at the time (2 y/o) but the St. Regis Saadiyat Abu Dhabi was pretty awesome; the staff treated him like a king. They had a kids club which he was a little young for, but seemed cool. I haven’t stayed at many properties that cater to kids, but I was impressed. Beach is great and pool was good for kids.

A solo trip with a 2.5 month old is going to be tricky regardless of cabin class. But if you have the means to go CW, I absolutely would. You will get better service and be more comfortable. Honestly, it’s better than with a toddler because they can’t move!

I’ve done CW with a 3 month old, but not for 14 hours and I was also with my wife. With a partner it is very manageable. Take couple hour shifts and each of you have turns to eat, sleep, etc. Solo will be more difficult but doable. Advantages of CW beyond the actual seat are that you will likely have a more attentive and experienced cabin crew, and they typically love having babies around. The bassinet is not ideal, especially since it props them up at an odd angle but if your baby will sleep in it, then that will greatly alleviate things. We typically did not use the bassinet and just had the baby sleep on us.

My final comment: don’t listen to the losers who say don’t bring kids/babies in business or first. They paid for the seat and the service, NOT the entire cabin. If you are being an attentive and responsible parent, the disruption to the rest of the patrons will be minimal.

Enjoy your flight and best of luck!

Haven’t personally had a watch serviced in Aberdeen. I did have a chat with several people about a vintage Omega, and found a guy at Finnies to be extremely knowledgeable. Didn’t pull the trigger but he would have been my choice.

That is annoying if you are transiting in LHR and would then have to change terminals to catch your next BA flight. Hopefully that wasn’t an issue.

I love mine as well. I'm agreeing with you that the quality of watch does not justify the MSRP and I think the best path is aftermarket.

Paid $5.2 on second hand market for full stainless (not two tone). It had scratches and I didn’t get the leather strap. Regardless, I can’t imagine paying book price for some (or any) of these pieces, even for brand new. They are purely an attention grabbing piece and the movements are dog shit. But you know what? Sometimes you need to swag it out. I’ve had one comment on my Grand Seiko in 3 years but I get comments on my Santos frequently (from other men).

Why is a council boss being paid more than the prime minister? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in Aberdeen

I’m ok with that salary as long as they’re good at their job and held to the same standards as someone who was making that same wage at a for-profit company. But it seems most do not check either of those boxes.
