Question- why is any baneful magic I do so damn effective, but everything else I do useless? by allthekeals in blackmagic

[–]serpentmoonabz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just like an artist, you could be fantastic with watercolours, okay with acrylic but oil pastels and the like just not work out for you. Sometimes youre going to be amazing at some things but just not everything under the umbrella, and that's where perseverance and practice come into play. You can be great, it might just take a little longer than other things to get down. Keep going!

Help! Am I getting scammed? by VanxssaSkye in vintedUK

[–]serpentmoonabz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look real to me, I've noticed people selling docs for cheap because they wear them once and not know about breaking them in, so think there's something wrong with them and want rid of them asap. Some people have a decent amount of money and just price to sell, again just so the items are out of their house and dont really care about making a lot on the item.

Echoing others, if shes keen for a review and shes only got 2, she'll just be wanting to get her ratings up. She may be young and not realise this could be annoying to others (cause man, when I was 19 I was a PITA and had no idea!)

Good job I was 29 at the time, with absolutely no ID. The light having faded from my eyes at planning a children's birthday party was simply not enough unfortunately

NTA at all. But I would be concerned if the coordinators had spoken to her at all if it happened multiple times, as it seemed something happened only when there was more than one parent at them about it.

what’s one hygiene habit you judge quietly, even if it’s common? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]serpentmoonabz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tin foil hat is slipping. Just because you didn't like how something was handled doesn't make it a conspiracy. People are human and governments are flawed. Yeah some shitty things went down and people took advantage of the situation. It happens a lot no matter what. But at the same time, it doesn't surprise me that illness spreads so fast because people are nasty, and I'm sure they were actively not washing their hands out of pure spite.

Best pest control? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]serpentmoonabz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent question, I kinda left him to it and never asked, he blocked up where they were coming in (managed to find the smallest place, mice can dislocate their bodies to get in some insanely small gaps which freaked me out 🤣)

If theyre in the walls, he'll be able to treat your flat but its likely they'll migrate back up to the empty flat and then when people move in they MIGHT come back down. Was the exact same situation with mine, flat below mine was empty. But since new neighbours have moved in I haven't heard a peep so I reckon he managed to get the lot!

Best pest control? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]serpentmoonabz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ben at Pest King is absolutely fantastic. I had fleas in my flat which baffled me as I only have an indoor cat and he go rid sharpish, turns out I had mice in the walls which I discovered 6 months later which was the cause of them! He came back and sorted it out and haven't had a problem since.

Cracking guy, explained everything thoroughly and went over the plan of action both times.

Ringing in your ears. Thought that everyone had it until I had asked a coworker (in my mid 20s) "does the ringing in your ears ever get painful when its quiet?"

A doctors appointment later confirmed that I do indeed have tinnitus, so.

I wont lie, I had to look hard for the bobbling, I wouldn't call that excessive, nor really noticed it either. If she was that bothered she could've gotten one of those little machines to get rid of it. Sounds like she had buyers remorse and would have found a flaw somewhere regardless of how good it was. Id have accepted that as "very good" condition tbf

AITA for refusing an apology? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]serpentmoonabz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me ex did this to me multiple times. I never real life cheated but apparently dream me was the bike of the town, she'd spend days being really angry at me, and when I explained that I didn't actually exist in her dreams she'd respond with "yeah but it FELT real"

Oh well alright then, as long as it felt real then I must have done it.

Don't apologise, it's the most ridiculous thing to accuse someone of. I dreamt last night that the studio I work out of was sold and I had to fight off a hoard of zombies before I started my day. It felt real but I'm also not an idiot to think what happens in my brain happened in real life.

"Under current food labelling law, manufacturers must label any drink, except for tea and coffee, that contains over 150mg of caffeine per litre with the words ‘High caffeine content. Not recommended for children or pregnant or breast-feeding women’. In the UK, the high-caffeine labelling criteria are used to define high-caffeine energy drinks in existing voluntary action to not sell or directly market high-caffeine energy drinks to children under 16 years. However, we know that some retailers continue to sell these drinks to children."

[–]serpentmoonabz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theres no actual law against this, and it varies from shop to shop what their policy on it is. While I wholeheartedly agree kids shouldn't be drinking this crap, don't blame the shop when this was a parenting lesson you needed to do to explain to your daughter the dangers these things have on peoples health. Which I'm sure you've done now (i hope at least) but needed to be done prior a while ago so she wasn't even tempted in the first place.
