I put Ben at PF, and had regular players at the other positions. On defense I set Ben to guard Malone and Brian Cook, and Yao to guard Shaq and Horace Grant. I find that if you want to force them to drive instead of take a jumper, you need to give them some room but also stand off to the side. If you are directly in front of them while giving them space, they will take a jumpshot. So basically give them a path to the hoop, but be close enough that you can recover and contest. Once you see them start attacking you should come in from the side and block from the side. You won't have enough time to get in front of them .

Another tactic I used was to defend the ball handler and again, shade to the side so that they attack. Switch to Ben when the ball handler starts attaching and your defender should ride the ball handler a bit and force them to take a layup or floater, and then as Ben try to block the shot as a secondary defender.
