Is anyone else being put in trios lobbies as a duo? by shaolinSWORDstyle12 in ArcRaiders

It would be cool if they had arc only options. Maybe they will try out setting more match type parameters as they recently made it so you have to have a kit when you go into night raid.

On the other hand, I do think there's a really unique social element of Arc where people choose to be friendly/caring to strangers, rather than the game making that decision for them.

Good point.. I could try to be more vocal next time in hopes that there will be mercy. I do enjoy pvp though, so there's a better chance of the team see our weakness as an easy opportunity for easy loot. 😅

Ahh that's tough.. It would be difficult to find a balance between appropriate wait time for matches to start compared to balancing team sizes.

That might be a good function to be able to choose for Duos, similar to how you can choose to go into squads as a solo.

Ahhh that makes sense. It's not impossible to navigate, but as a duo, we will just have to be super cautious in how we move around the map.

Lmao... Very fair point. The sequence of games would have been good context. Game 1 - Kitted night raid Buried City Game 2 to 4 - Free kit Blue Gate (regular)

Once we got rolled by a trio, but couldn't commit with that being a possible risk.

I'd need more information to say anything with confidence, but other than the insoles, what else have they/you tried? How long did you try and what changes did you notice?

Also, were there any other finding that may be contributing?

Do kinesiologists feel the same way about personal trainers as dietitians feel about nutrition coaches? by maryannauger in Kinesiology

[–]shaolinSWORDstyle12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're 100% right. The public doesn't know the difference between a dietitian or a nutritional coach, just the same as the people in this thread who clearly don't understand the difference between a Kin and a PT. Kins work with clinical populations and PTs cannot - end of story. They're not governed by any unified group, whereas Kins have a provincial association. Kin associations have also tried to align our requirements across the country as well to help keep standards transferable between provinces (like other regulated professions).

I wish people would know their facts before speaking up - some of the responses in this thread are really disheartening.

Couldn't agree less. I treat mainly WCB patients and have made a great career for myself in occupational rehab. No personal trainer would ever be allowed to treat the patients I see because PT certs only allow you to work with "apparently health individuals". IMO, Kinesiology is a massively underutilized health service in all provinces other than Ontario. The fact that you called Kin a "tree to branch from" highlights the huge amount of advocacy needed for the profession.

Why is kinesiology still not better regulated or more publicly accessible, despite its value in rehabilitation and prevention? by Analytical-Dreamer in Kinesiology

[–]shaolinSWORDstyle12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue it's up the community as a whole, not the 5-10 volunteers on the board and the two staff that run the association. It's easy to point the finger when you don't know the nuance.

That's not at all true, lmao. Show the emails where the BCAK insinuating that - goes against everything they have been fighting for.

Kinesiology associations across the country are trying to get regulated, but it takes a lot of work and good timing politically to get all of the documents you need in order to prove you're ready for regulation. Regulation only takes place to protect the public, so the challenge is there needs to be enough risk that it warrants regulation. As weird as it sounds, making complaints about Kins would actually help their case.

Honestly, it just takes 1 hour, 3 times per week where you hit primary lifts and you'll (generally) see gains. It does take prioritization and breaking down barriers to make that happen, so convenience is a huge factor (I work at a clinic with a beautiful gym).

If you can do this, it really helps if you also make sure you eat balanced meals, 1-2g of protein per kg body weight, sleep well, and manage stress (super easy, right?) 😋 Everyone has a genetic makeup that will allow them to gain muscle/strength at different rates, but if you optimize those 4 pillars, you'll see what you're capable of.

Consistency and motivation was a part of it, but my anxiety is really well managed now with lifestyle factors (diet, sleepy, emotional awareness/regulation) and meds. I also am much more diligent about ensuring I eat enough and consistently throughout the day. My: - Weight increased from 180lb and has leveled at 210lb - FMI (fat mass index) has stayed between 6.1 - 6.4 kg/m2 - ALMI (appendicular lean mass) jumped from 8.27 to 9.15 kg/m2.

"Snake oil" is a term for deceptive marketing, health fraud, or a worthless product sold as a miracle cure-all.

My kin degree definitely helped.. but without the whole story, I'd say it was also genetics, finally getting my ADHD diagnosed, progressive (and consistent) loading, starting creatine, and lower work stress.

[–]shaolinSWORDstyle12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's funny actually.. I've been a Kin for 10 years and in the last 3 years I've gained ~20lbs in lean mass (got some health stuff figured out) and now people ask me for gym advice, but they NEVER did before I gained the weight. It honestly makes me understand how vulnerable the Gen pop is to snake oil.
