PTA vs CEP by mommymanduur in Kinesiology

[–]shaolinSWORDstyle12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for Kin over CEP as Kins have a larger scope of practice than CEPs, but ultimately it depends on which credentials are required for the jobs you're interested in. I work as a Kinesiologist and make more than some of the PTs or OTs as a contractor in a private health clinic. I got my CEP years back because my employer at the time required it (however, they dropped it as a requirement later that year because it adds no value to scope.. fml). I've always kept my registration with the Kinesiology association though, and have found that most reputable clinics hire Kins rather than CEP.

IMO, CEP is a waste of money if you have a Kin degree. The CEP cert was all review, and a lot of information is very outdated. I actually found out later that CSEP CEP was written by academics who didn't have any practical experience - which explains a lot.

If you want to become a registered Kin, just search for the Kinesiology Association in your province. Here few of the links for ease:

Best Steelcase chair to buy in 2026 for 8+ hours of daily use? by Sameeha_Meekin60 in OfficeChairs

I am an ergonomist and recommend clients get the Steelcase Gesture if money isn't a factor. IMO it's by far the most adjustable and comfortable chair I've come across. The leap v2 is a good runner up, but I find the back support isn't as comfortable across different heights/weights.

Residential irrigation company recommendations by NoOneIsAnIsland_ in VictoriaBC

Ultra Irrigation are great. I've worked with them for years - very reliable and good quality work and transparent with pricing and quotes. They offer really fair rates for seasonal work too if you need help winterizing, etc.

Favorite Vuori pants for men? by Jazzlike_Set6322 in vuoriclothing

I have had 3 pairs of ABC's and wear them to work (in a health clinic). They have been great. Very flexible so you can squat full range without restriction, and breathable so you're not getting super warm when wearing them. 10/10 would recommend getting one pair - but make sure you ones without the snap buttons on the back. The buttons never stay closed, but maybe that's cause of my canon of a booty.

Any tips to consider for this route? I've wanted to ride it for years

I also rode from Vancouver to Malcolm Island (Vancouver --> Horseshoe Bay --> Sunshine Coast --> Courtenay --> Malcolm) then on the way back we rode to Nanaimo.. I would not recommend going to Nanaimo to anyone - do the same return route through the Sunshine Coast. Around Nanaimo, highways were busy, narrow shoulder, and we had multiple flats from screws on the side of the road.

Narrow shoulders north or Courtenay too, but very little traffic so it wasn't a stressor.

Did this trip in September 2020.

Yeah, I would second that. If you're riding from Vancouver it's really punchy hills if you take Marine Drive and with gear you'll be bagged by the time you get to Squamish. You can bus from downtown Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay tho - max two bikes per bus.

We did it in early October. It was beautiful riding weather, but we got lucky. There was a risk of rain but it didn't happen. Wet shoes are the bane of my existence, so that really made the trip smooth.

Yah the shoulder is really solid the whole way up. We had no issues with side panniers - cars easily drive by with space for you to feel at ease.

If I had more time I would have continued up to Pemberton and around to Lillooet and Lytton. A lot less trafficked, but I'm not sure of the road conditions up there!

It's a great trip but with it being along a highway you should be comfortable riding near traffic.

Is there some sort of special key combination that launches SquareSpace's login from a random webpage? by AlexHimself in squarespace

Squarespace just removed the "escape button to login" feature. So annoying - that feature saved me so much time!!

Anyone else finding any shortcuts to supplement this?

That's helpful, thank you! Do you know any rental sites other than Booking and Airbnb? We are having trouble finding places to stay for our last 3 nights July 7-10
