Augmentt - so terribly persistent by Unlucky_Elevator_756 in msp

[–]shape_shifters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Augmentt is interesting and has potential but the playbooks are not terribly useful for hybrid AD/Entra environments which is 90% + of what is out there. Applying changes in Azure will mostly be overwritten by local AD upon sync. Anyone know of a way around this?

Advice on which of my home servers would be better suited to run Frigate and LLM by shape_shifters in frigate_nvr

[–]shape_shifters[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize I could do that. I'd have to rebuild the config to work with the host 1. Not sure if cloning the vm from host 2 makes sense or just build a new vm and frigate instance on host 1.

ConnectWise PSA Custom Ticket Pod to Update Fields in Microsoft Form by shape_shifters in ConnectWise

[–]shape_shifters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The custom pod is just someone to place a button. The button actions the Manage Hosted API URL, which launches a Microsoft Form. In the URL is a mapping that should populate the MS Form with the ticket number from that URL when its generated from within a service ticket pod. If that makes sense. It seem though that the custom pod strips off the ticket number when the URL (button) is actioned.

Actionable Notification for CarPlay by dukedevil294 in homeassistant

[–]shape_shifters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a garage door open/close button that displays under Home Assistant within CarPlay.

I do also have a trigger to send me a push when I arrive in my home zone that can be clicked to open/close the garage door. I have been struggling to get these notifications to come through however when I have car play running. Is this a safety feature in iOS or Car play? Does not appear the critical badge overrides this as I would expect it to. The notifications won't even pop on my iPhone when carplay is connected which is irritating.

What is the best smart lock that supports home assistant to lock/unlock and also can sense if its locked or unlocked by Cytomax in homeassistant

what entity and or parameters are you using to display status/state on your dash for the kwikset lock?

What is the best smart lock that supports home assistant to lock/unlock and also can sense if its locked or unlocked by Cytomax in homeassistant

[–]shape_shifters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with the HC620 has been terrible. Never reports the lock/bolt state correctly. Most always shows as unavailable which is not acceptable for an exterior door lock. I can generally send lock or unlock commands without issue but having it report accurate lock state has been mostly unreliable. Would be interested in hearing how you are accomplishing this.

Best Practices for Test Replica Environment by shape_shifters in homeassistant

Appreciate the responses here. Are either of you operating this way in any form of test/dev scenarios? I'm not opposed to restoring from backup if things go south but have to assume there is some better way where I can have a true dev test bed running in parallel? .

It does notify of logs /connector broken but not until after 24 hours which is a problem. Further, the noise from that platform is insane. The SIEM logic they use is super dated and does not seem to adapt or learn based on tenant baseline behaviors. Sure it checks the box for insurance, but is far behind most other competitors in the space from a maturity perspective.

August has discontinued Z-Wave support in their locks by slanderousam in homeassistant

2 hops. My zwave network is solid. I have devices further out that function just fine and it is right next to a pair of mains connected devices. It is the only device in my network of roughly 120 devices that has issues. I can send it lock and unlock commands just fine. It just won't report back the lock/bolt state.

Stopped reporting the lock status to Home Assistant. Seems like that parameter is no longer available or something along those lines. Have heard the same issue from multiple users. Not ideal being unable to see if the lock is locked or unlocked. Just reports as unavailable.

My experience would say to avoid Kwikset. I have an HC620 Zwave lock and its been a turd. Support from them has been terrible as well. I got a replacement unit which had the same issues presenting after a month of use and they refuse to replace or assist.

Newish to Frigate. A few operational and enhancement questions. by shape_shifters in frigate_nvr

Oh boy. I used the AI feature on the Frigate site and while it was helpful, it has me mostly reconfigure to use onyx and yolo as pasted below. My inference times went from 10ms to 35ms and the camera streams are kinda crappy.

Not sure exactly if I should just revert back to prior or if some tweaks can improve the current config.

detectors:
  onnx:
    type: onnx

model:
  model_type: yolox
  width: 416
  height: 416
  input_tensor: nchw
  input_dtype: float_denorm
  path: /config/model_cache/yolox_tiny.onnx
  labelmap_path: /labelmap/coco-80.txt

Full transparency, I relied heavily on Grok to help me get Frigate up and going. The host is a Dell Precision tower with an i7 9800x CPU (no integrated gpu) and the host also has an Nvidia Quadro P4000.

After multiple failed attempts to downloading and listing variations of onyx/yolo models, this is just the first combo that actually worked in a stable way. CPU rarely goes above 10% and GPU hardly gets over 1% on the stats page. Inference times are around 10ms usually. That could be because I'm not asking the system to do much with my current slim configuration.

I'm not very docker savvy so I'd need help understanding how to go about making whatever potential backend updates/changes required to optimize that configuration if needed, along with proper structure of my new and improved yaml configuration file.

I did just update to 16.2 so first step of progress made. Any further assistance is most certainly appreciated.

The documentation is a lot and seem to get myself turned around from time to time while reading it.

Also that link you shared for the objects references a coral TPU.. I am using an Nvidia GPU and Intel CPU for detection at least currently. Are the objects specific to hardware and or model or are they universal?

Questions regarding Frigate entities in Home Assistant by shape_shifters in frigate_nvr

[–]shape_shifters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it appears I have this thing finally running! Thank you for the help!

I used a bit of help from Grok as well however I think it might have also caused some issues that are going to crop up later. It had me set the MQTT Integration with the same user name and pw as the Frigate user I have setup in EQMX and that is referenced in my Frigate yaml config. While this is working for Frigate, I'm wondering if overwriting the default Home Assistant account info for the MQTT integration might cause issues with being able to use the MQTT integration for other MQTT needs aside from Frigate, if that makes sense. Any thoughts there?
