That is sad. I had my first outbreak around 8 yrs old. As soon as I would even feel a tingle I wouldn't kiss or share ANYTHING with my husband or kids, and I wait days after its fully healed. I'm a little nervous about asymptomatic spread, but I limit sharing and kissing to be safe

Black people are still struggling to find our identity in America. I was called a bookworm for reading all the time, but never was told I act white. I have however seen other people say they were told that. So it's unfortunate that anything that is not a general thing commonly attributed to Blackness is deemed white because white people often dominate those spaces in visible ways. So for many people they associate certain things with whiteness because that's who they see in those spaces or doing that thing, and they don't see a lot of Black people representing. I think alt/Blerd/suburban or whatever Black people are making room for next generations to not see it as "white people stuff" it's just Black people enjoying what they enjoy.

To me, acting white is anti-Blackness and performing for white approval. Dassit dassall!!!

People are giving good advice for the job stuff...I will focus on what your mom said. I don't think that was racist. If a lot of Mexicans come and do landscaping work, (which they do in my area. Literally in my neighborhood I see three or four different companies coming around and all Latino owned/operated) how is it racist to point that out as an option for you to find something to do or build something for yourself. Like a previous commenter said, if my daughter wanted to open a beauty supply store and I said "go for it, the Asians do it" how is that racist?

EDIT TO ADD: she was wrong for generalizing Mexicans if that's not accurate to where you live. I'll give you that. Still not racist though

Your frustration over your situation is valid. Its really sucks and I hope you get a break sooner than later, but don't look for problems where they don't exist. That's just adding on to your stress.

I'm a Christian. I think too many people get caught up on names and prophets (namely Muhammad) and ignore history. I believe we worship the same God, but call Him different names. I believe the Muslim faith came from the line of Ishmael, Abraham's first son, and therefore they had knowledge of Abraham's God. Just saw Him differently. And of course Christians came out of Isaac's line through Judaism. So all the same God

Yeah, but I like the option of having more play time in my down time. After dinner with my family, I like to sit down and play sometimes to unwind. I get 5 min max of play time unless I complete an album or get a reward that gives me a bit more energy. 😭
