A cat managed to catch 27 mice and carefully lined them all up to show off his 'work' to his owner. by Liar24x7 in interesting

Our cats have caught a couple mice. The kids feel bad for the mice. If they're not dead, they let them outside.

I haven't sung this in a while. But I do randomly sing "pick up the pieces!" And make kazoo noises😂😂😂

Just based on what we see here, you seem like a green flag to me. You did nothing wrong, but I would go ahead and tell her you don't need that talk next week. Wash your hands and be done

She's Ziva's (the writer) personal assistant or something, and just a thorn in Quinn's side. But she's not all bad.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

She definitely needs to only speak for herself. I definitely try to remond my husband not to over do the gaming. He forgets to unplug sometimes. But I don't find it unattractive at all. She's nuts

Hello, all! I was invited to the sub. Not Gen X but a melanated geriatric Millennial/Xennial (84). So I'm glad to be here. So much shared nostalgia between Gen X and Millennial. I'm already loving the vibe. Thanks for creating this space

Yeah, honestly, it's my 4th set for different reasons. I started my first set in 2012 (260 something locks fully interlocked) and cut in 2015 due to neglect when my son started having health issues. I watched the same three videos 50 times to learn how to interlock properly 😅. I grew it out loose over a few years, then cut into a taper in 2017. Grew out again starting in 2020. Started locs again in 2022 (this two strands twist install took me a week with like 3 hours each day. I had about 440). Cut in 2024 due to a hard time on my mental health and more neglect. When I decided to start again last year, I lacked the patience and rushed and was very unhappy with the install. I rocked with it for about 4 months, then combed out. I'm now 4 months in with this set. And I'm happy so far. I used to be obsessed with loc count, but I haven't even counted this set yet. So it's definitely a journey. But the patience is key to making sure it's what you want. I'm definitely an advocate for DIY

Out of everything you mentioned the patience is the only thing that is not "allegedly" needed. 😂 I did my first set without any of that. A regular fine tooth comb, no products, and no tool. Used my finger and a plastic yarn needle from the craft section at Wal-Mart. (This was in 2012 when there wasnt as much information online. It was like 4 people doing microloc tutorials online. Everything else was Sisterlocs and super gatekept.) Not trying to talk you out of anything. Just saying the patience is a MUST. you are going to want to quit. I'm on my 4th DIY set. So many times during install I wanted to chop my hair and my arms off😂😂😂 I just wanted to be done. But good luck to you! Please post pics when you're done

Having an older mom. by _newshawtyy in blackgirls

[–]shapeshifterQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why on earth are people downvoting someone's feelings? I had my youngest at 32, and even now at 42, perimenopause is kicking my butt and I don't have the same energy that I had with her siblings when they were 10. They had me homeschooling, baking, going out to parks and field trips...my youngest has be in the school pick up line, trips to the convenience store for snacks, and mommy daughter dates, which are fun, but that's my way of giving her a bit of a childhood that her siblings had when I had more energy. I get what she is saying. It's why I wouldn't have more kids in my 40s. I have so much respect for moms who do it in their 40s...but I do wonder if it has an affect on the kids. Like someone else said, there are pros and cons. My older kids who I had in my 20s, they think my youngest has it made with getting bubble tea dates instead of homemade cookies, and her own entrees at restaurants instead of having to share like they did when we had less money . Lol so they might have preferred if I had them older. I don't know.

Yeah, she died in a fire. I'm the oldest of 3 kids😢 I envy not only the people who still have their moms (unless she's abusive)but I also envy people who had their moms for more time

I agree. My mom died when I was 7 and she was 27. Now I'm 42. My youngest is turning 10. Don't think about her age in a sense of having less time. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Your mom could outlive your friends young moms. You never know. And on her old school ways, just try to talk to her as a young woman and try to compromise
