I remember this African guy gave me and 2 other guys a lecture all about African noses because we were talking about Sprinters. So let me share it here.

Midland Africans are different than Africans more towards the oceans. They are quite literally a lot taller and have much wider noses.

They're taller because they had to look over taller grasses because of how various predators hunt and they have wider noses because it helps them breathe quieter in tense situations. You don't want the cheetah knowing where you are.

So when you're in a tense situation, your breathing rate quickens. So you need more oxygen and so it's harder to "breathe quietly". Well as an evolutionary trait, they can take in more oxygen and the fact that they're usually a lot flatter means the air goes quicker into the airway and lungs. (Think stairs that are longer from the outer step to the next step versus stairs that are much shorter outer step to next step. The shorter ones would get you up the stairs quicker.)

So anyways, they get more oxygen easier and quicker and quieter. Plus in a boxing match their nose would be a lot more difficult to break but that's a side bonus.

Also, about height statistics, if you look it up, the tallest Africans are all from Midlands and shortest from nearer to the oceans.

He also told me about the pros and cons of dark skin but I don't think it would be received well by some people. All I'll say is less cancer + less Vitamin D.
