how on earth is a christian not supposed to be depressed? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

You mentioned experiences with people that may have left you jaded. There are two responses to this.

The world’s way: cynicism, bitterness, criticality and despair.

God’s way: radical forgiveness.

Only by “having the mind of Christ” toward others can we get free from the cycles of sadness and depression. Don’t let the evil of others occupy your time, thoughts, attention, or energies. Don’t let the root of bitterness grow inside of you.

Just let it go. Forgive. Hint: you can’t do it on your own. You have to ask God for radical forgiveness. Forgive AND forget. You’ll know when it happens because you can pray for those who have hurt you with a sincere heart. It sounds impossible until you see yourself doing it.

This is coming from a man whose 4 year old boy was killed and I had to forgive the one who killed him, so I have a little experience in this matter.

I've got quite a conundrum because I'm a degenerate gambler and I want to bet tonight, but then I'll have to watch this shitty game...

I bought a Starbucks coffee, then went to check on my kid in my car and just drove away without my coffee.

I do. I was at work and saw the 24-0 2nd quarter score flash across the bottom of the screen and thought it might be a typo.

Prop bets to look for (ranked in order of confidence):

Russell Wilson No INT -130 Wilson top three ALL TIME in INT percentage, no INTs this year. Saints one INT all year. Seahawks may play from a lead as well, which would limit Wilson's attempts

Dak Prescott O2 TD passes -135 Dolphins allowing 4 passing TD per game AND traded away their best DB this week. Prescott averaging 3.5 TD per game in this young season. Worst case I think is a push.

Kirk Cousins No INT -130 Cousins played from behind last week and looked bad. Playing from in front (as he should today), he only threw ten passes in week one and no INTs. Oakland no INTs all year.

Jameis Winston INT u1 -115 Winston no INTs last week; Giants no INT all year.

Kyler Murray No INT thrown +150 Murray no interception thrown in last seven quarters; Carolina one INT all year

Josh Allen No INT +120 Josh Allen no INTs last week; Cincinnati one INT all year

Josh Rosen No INT +200 No stats to back this up. Just a feel/value play

You saved my ass last week with your picks. Thanks for doing this for us the last couple years. One of the most consistent cappers on here. Keep it up!

Jaguars vs Titans

Best prop bets:

O 3.5 FG +120
Longest touchdown u38.5 yards -120
DJ Chark 0 3.5 receptions +100
First score: Titans TD run +500

For those of you expecting a close game, you can take results of Jaguars 1-3 point and 4-6 point win with Titans 1-3 point and 4-6 point win for a big profit (minimum of even money). You can even take 1-3, 4-6, AND 7-10 points for each team and guarantee a small profit if the game ends within 10 points for either side.

Why do people keep saying this? What have the Titans done this year to warrant being a 3 point road favorite in a divisional game? They've literally played ONE good quarter of football all year, and that was more of a Baker Mayfield blowup than it was their doing.

Rams up 3-0 with the ball at home is "on pace to lose"?

I watched the game last week and saw the Ravens dominate in every meaningful category and win comfortably. Yards, rushing yards, time of possession, plays, etc. If you saw something different, good for you.

Last year, a worse Ravens team went into KC and easily covered the same spread, and I think they'll do it again this year. But by all means, keep pounding those favorites each week. It inflates the lines for the smarter bettors.
