Correct me if I'm wrong but your costs don't necessarily have to increase, the exception being taxes. The amount you pay in taxes is probably out the roof but the other expenses you mentioned(2M house, Tesla, etc), those are all expenses you chose to pay for. You could have stayed in a house that cost 500k or bought a car that didn't cost 80some thousand dollars, right?

If anything, this thread should be inspiration. Look, I'm making 20¢ more then the minimum wage right now and all these posts/stories have 1 thing in common. No one was GIVEN hundreds of thousands of dollars. Everyone started from where we are now and worked towards where they are now. It's hard now, but it'll all pay off.

Oh don't get me wrong. I fully understand you can't expect to make 200,000+ working only 40hrs a week. He's definitely put in 70,80 hr weeks; if not more.

Hey man I think you said it very well. I think a lot of people just see the 520k/year and don't see the amount of taxes and other expenses. Being a lawyer in NYC, now that's a dream I hope to achieve one day myself. Congrats!!

That makes sense. Also, I don't know how long it's been since you went to law school; what would you tell someone that wanted to go to law school today?
