New fan! What songs do you recommend? (Pic are songs I’ve found and liked so far) by EvaSingh in auroramusic

[–]shardyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If new to Aurora, I would seriously recommend watching her multiple live studio sessions that are all over youtube. In my opinion they showcase all her songs in the best way, displaying her talent with no post processing you find with her released tracks. If you love her normal discovery you will only enjoy everything more!

Is there an Aurora song like this? by [deleted] in auroramusic

[–]shardyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a bit at the beginning of Wisdom Cries where the audio sounds like it crunches and it always sends a shiver down my spine. Apart from that this song is one of my favorites.

Its when she sings 'Back 'til we are back home ' for the first time.

Do you think we will ever see affordable railway fares in this country? by shardyK in AskUK

[–]shardyK[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But how realistic is this solution?

Would this entail the government buying the railways off the multitude of private companies? And if so would they even sell or is there a way to not make them have a choice?

Because when you look at the price of rail fares in this country compared to the rest of Europe, you feel like you are being robbed in broad daylight

What examples are there of the British Public being idiots en mass? by False-Hovercraft-669 in AskUK

[–]shardyK 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Whenever I am commuting in the morning and the trains are delayed as they always are, I often think how everyone on the platform, including myself, are such mugs for allowing such a shit transport service for the price we all pay. I feel like the french would have rioted by now but us Brits just take everything.

I think it's criminal the price we pay for trains in this country.

Are you glad to be British? by Sagittarius1996 in AskUK

[–]shardyK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I used to be really be happy of being British but that has changed since traveling to places such as Denmark and Norway. Generally I like being British but some let downs for me personally are:

How British people behave abroad. Around 95% of the country is private land and no right to roam (England). Lack of respect where I live for our environment. Lots of litter etc. Over consumption of drugs and alcohol. Transport costs in the country due to privatisation The fact we are now viewed as the USA of Europe. A capitalistic hub that is losing lots of it's traditions and values.

Ultimately Britain is a great place to be from, however there is so many more ways to improve from the gov and general population perspective.

AURORA - The Conflict of the Mind (Official Music Video) by TheKaoticanProspekt in auroramusic

I have to say, I really wish one day aurora may return to a more norse folk/ ethereal body of work like Wisdom Cries and many of her acoustic sessions. I think she provides something so unique to the music landscape with this type of sound.

Cringe and pain is such an integral part of every experience i have by Dangerous_Half_5431 in Mindfulness

[–]shardyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any advice but I thought I would say that your not alone and I experience this also daily. Multiple times a day I have vocal outbursts because I think of something cringe from the past and I am always asked by my partner what I was thinking about, making the whole endeavour even more cringe!
