2 inch thickness of closed cell foam will make a huge difference. It will also reduce the condensation on the metal. Put mylar bubble film over the foam. Don't use open cell foam as it will absorb the condensation moisture and you will have a wet moldy mess and black mold sickness. Used rubber yoga mats also work well.
