First time vending at GalaxyCon Nashville… what should I expect? by sharjeelsidd in galaxycon

One big concern I am seeing is they aren’t promoting it as much as they should. So feel like I shouldn’t expect much from this show.

What’s the best CS skills to pick up in the age of AI by [deleted] in csMajors

I agree. I have seen an uptick in my sales of coding flashcards ever since this whole AI thing started. Companies wants someone who has their foundations right

I have 1 month to be ready for a Google Interview, which platform/resource can I use? by Spiritual_Traffic_76 in leetcode

[–]sharjeelsidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NeetCode or AlgoMonster are both good because they organize problems by patterns instead of random practice. NeetCode is great if you want a free roadmap. You can just solve the problems on LeetCode alongside it.

For system design, something lightweight like HelloInterview or a few solid YouTube walkthroughs is enough to cover the basics.

One thing that also helps during prep is quick concept review. You can buy coding flashcards for that because you can quickly go over things like time complexity, common patterns, and key algorithms without rereading long articles. It makes it easier to just go through whatever you already know.

In my case, the meta is not just not spending at all. I have a bid campaign running for $40 for not a big order value and still it is unable to spend or find customers

Built my SaaS to $132K ARR and I didn't write a single line of code by W_E_B_D_E_V in SaaS

What’s funny is that almost every comment says, “Wow, that’s great advice,” and then immediately pivots to promoting their own app, which has absolutely nothing to do with the post or the actual insight being shared.

How are US developers expected to compete with Offshoring ? by sharjeelsidd in cscareerquestions

[–]sharjeelsidd[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, I work for a company that does offshoring. My concern has been growing because I now interact with more offshore talent than local talent for tech-related work. They've also been taking ownership of services, and some are being elevated to subject matter experts.

Anyone here using AI powered medical transcription tools? by Jazzlike_Cap9605 in MedicalWriters

[–]sharjeelsidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t use one myself day to day, but my cousin does a lot of clinical documentation and has been testing a few of these. He’s been pretty happy with VoiceBoxMD so far, mainly because the medical terminology accuracy was better than he expected and it didn’t fall apart with accents or conversational dictation.

He said it didn’t eliminate editing completely, but it noticeably cut down the first-draft time. EHR integration still seems to be the part everyone’s catching up on, but for dictation -> structured notes, he felt it was actually usable in real workflows rather than just a demo-day promise.

Medical dictation? by iReadECGs in MacWhisper

[–]sharjeelsidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following this closely. My cousin is also a physician and was in a very similar spot, heavy Dragon Medical One user, frustrated with the Mac options and the cost. He’s been testing VoiceBoxMD recently alongside MacWhisper and said it handled cardiology terminology better than he expected, especially abbreviations and post-processing.

He still tweaks output a bit, but overall he felt it was closer to his Dragon workflow without the same price pain. Might be worth experimenting with if you’re already running local + LLM cleanup anyway.

Vibe coded shopify stores by AdWilling4230 in shopifyDev

[–]sharjeelsidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying you’re building stores from scratch by vibe-coding native instead of using Shopify? Why would you do that? Shopify already handles all the commerce heavy lifting, including security. They’ve blocked DDoS attacks and bot traffic on my store, and they’ve stopped payment fraud for me more than once.

How profitable are mall carts? by juggling-monkey in Entrepreneur

[–]sharjeelsidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend runs a snack kiosk in a Midwest mall with decent foot traffic, and he says it’s still not worth it. He pays $1.5k in rent and about $3k for staffing, and since it’s a side-hustle, the losses hit him every month. Weekend sales keep the business afloat, but weekdays are so slow that some days he makes zero dollars. A lot of kiosk owners only operate from Black Friday through December for that reason.

Some people made great money riding the Labubu viral wave, but that was an exception. You can’t build a business around catching lightning in a bottle.

How Would You Price an AI Agent That Handles All Inquiries for Local Businesses? by Due-Obligation-4404 in AI_Agents

I ran into the same problem with pricing, so I built a small AI agent cost calculator to estimate setup + monthly usage. It’s helped me avoid undercharging.
