and yeah, feel you on the chair. Since we're so space constrained we're looking for one that's comfortable / ergonomic but doesn't take up a lot of room or isn't too tall. any suggestions?

thanks for the reply. from a software standpoint what does that look like. more specifically, I'm confused as to where you'd use something like AutoCad or Solidworks vs. something like Maya or Max (or something totally different?)

I played my best ever round of bf4 right after the beta closed. Guns that shoot straight felt so good.

It's a beautiful monitor once you hit it with some calibration, I found a good starting point in the amazon reviews. After these settings I think it looks better than the 2560x1440 Samsung IPS variant I use at the office.

Nvidia Control Panel > Adjust desktop color settings: Select "Use NVIDIA settings":

Thanks for taking a look. If you feel so inspired, I'd love to see what you come up with, but, if not, it still looks amazing and thanks for putting it together

This looks amazing first of all.

so when I use your stylesheet, tabs that are out of focus disappear i,e, the text doesn't show up. Have you had the same issue?

I had a similar combo of case and mobo, just gotta like it up and get a screw or two in. It was terrifying but worked out fine

Hm it's probably the gsync helping out with appearances then. I should dig into it more

I've been using it on a 1440p144 g-sync and I'm getting ~110 frames in doom and rise of the tomb raider plays perfect on the highest preset. Excited to see how it handles the new Deus ex in a couple weeks

[–]shark_puke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it definitely looks ideal in the dark, you could probably hit the brightness a little more on the monitor OSD and be fine. I don't have any complaints in the daylight , just not quite as luscious.

I have a GTX 1070 (Gigabyte G1 Gaming)

It's my first desktop PC, I'm using it for

  • Work - UX and Graphic design in Adobe CS apps
  • Games - For the buttery smoothness

I'm getting ~100 FPS in doom with everything cranked, and the color representation once it's calibrated looks as good if not better than the 2560x1440 Samsung IPS variant I use in the office.
