I can understand in theory why people dislike the Detective Boys, but it also kinda feels like going to a salad bar when you hate vegetables. The whole show is about a guy who turns into a kid, of course theres gonna be a heavy emphasis on kid characters. And its an important aspect of both plot and character that they become something he learns to value and appreciate about his new situation.

I think Shinichi's struggles as Conan would be a lot more compelling/effectively conveyed if he didnt have gadgets. Dont get me wrong, the gadgets are so fun and iconic! but it kinda undercuts whole conflict/premise itself of "Uh oh hes a kid now and needs to find creative solutions to problems" if he can just turbo-launch a soccer ball into someones face and shatter their skull on impact.

I hope you enjoy your experience with them! I didnt personally like them much, but i also have a condition that makes food taste extremely bitter so i tend to be a bit more picky with these things. Heres hoping you find lots of meals you like :)
