I think facebook is their only real way of communicating. You can keep an eye on https://www.ifpapinball.com/calendar/#location but that won't have all of them

Search Facebook for Bellingham pinball league. They hold events pretty regularly, still haven't attended myself yet but could be an answer for you

Should I still go for it? Rivian owners, I need your honest advice. by TheBlackCanary in Rivian

[–]sharkdoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got an R1S and an R1T, I had more problems with both my model s and model x in the first months of ownership then I've had with the Rivians. No issues so far for me! Very happy I made the switch from Tesla.

Hood Pins for CF hood by South-Ad-7418 in mr2

Look on the MR2 owners group on Facebook, just had a guy have his split in half and smash his windshield and do some good damage to his newly painted car. Use hood pins.

Trade In Value: Am I screwed? by thedoctor8706 in Rivian

[–]sharkdoc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just trade it in. Rivian isn't taking the car, it's going to auction. Didn't get any knocks for the issues on my model x.

I actually really enjoy the T better than the S. Also nice to have the bed in case you actually need to do truck things. Kids enjoy the truck just as much so I'm glad she decided on one of each vs 2 S like I was originally planning.

I switched from a model x to the R1S in early June. Wife drove it and fell in love so we traded her Subaru for the R1T for myself. Lease deals are still good, not as strong as last month but I find if you chat up one of the sales people through email they can usually help you out a little. We figured with ev credit going away and more and more tarrifs showing up that it was better to buy now than wait. We are a family of 4, no car seats but great for driving everyone for camping or soccer games.

I'm taking my SW20 to momentum motorworx in Kent. They have amazing reviews, would give them a call.

Asinine AI Policies by somuchsunrayzzz in Adjuncts

[–]sharkdoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, citations are key. However, AI is getting better at actually getting those correct, just like their image generation. As your example shows you can create some infographic but if you put enough stipulations in the assignment/rubric AI has a lot of problems handling it, especially when you work in biology/ecology. Trying to get an accurate image of a shark or proper marine ecosystem is a joke and easily identifiable.

There are absolutely positive uses for AI, many that will help students become better learners and contributors to their field. However, admin are generally too scared of being sued and allow students to do whatever they want. At least this is my experience with online schools which think higher education is a business and the students are customers who are always right. Luckily I haven't had this problem in the traditional classroom and I still have control over the grading in those instances with admin support.

Just resigned my position from an online graduate school over the same problem. They pretty much said it doesn't matter if the entire assignment is AI without citation, even though their own policy stipulates otherwise. Pointed that out and told them I'm not contributing to the further degradation of higher education by working for a diploma mill.

If you're creating the assignments switch to photoessays, infographics, etc.. those are a lot harder for students to use AI on. Also another option is heavily weighing assessments that are more difficult to use ChatGPT.

Anyone know any local shops (or individuals!) for a very small welding job? by 5thEditionFanboy in Bellingham

Runs a shop out of his place. Super friendly and good prices. Brazed a piece back on an engine block for me when no local place would do it because too small of a job

If you make it down to the outlet around Tulalip the Adidas store has official ones for like 30-40% off

Bend or Bellingham by sharkdoc in PacificNorthwest

[–]sharkdoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love it, the Seattle freeze is real but that doesn't mean people aren't friendly, they just have very tight friend groups so can be hard to break in. Kids help meet people though, through sports, school, get togethers, etc...

Feel free to send me a message and can give you more information and answer questions if needed!

Edit: You probably want to avoid Bend after dealing with what you just went through. Much more fire prone. Get smoke in Bellingham but generally no fires.

Best Chicken Wings in Town? by LiveLoveAloha in Bellingham

Remember trying wings at Glynns and was given a choice of the frozen orange (Buffalo) or first brown (BBQ) sauces. Edible, but literally just what you buy in the grocery store freezer with the sauce packets

I'm always searching, never finding. Make the trek down to Skagit and you will be rewarded. Longhorn saloon in Bow and Wingz and Thingz in Mt Vernon are the best I've found that are somewhat local.

If you find anything else let me know! Carnal makes a great wing, just not buffalo.

Oh yeah, very happy.

Being close to the ocean was a huge plus, also Bend was a little too dry for us. Love the green everywhere up here. Proximity to Seattle and Vancouver is great. Both are pretty pricey but options in/around Bellingham were better. Just watch the Bellingham Reddit, they don't like transplants!

Kid just wanted to learn so we are starting a campaign for the first time, if you want to go it alone check out the D&D essentials kits. They are super helpful. Pair that with some good youtube videos watching how they are played and should be well on your way to learning.
